"Dave was fantastic. He replied to my inquiry quickly, I think within the hour of placing it. We discussed the situation (no hot water) and arranged for him to take a look the next morning. After seeing the project and sizing up what was necessary for the fix, he located the replacement tank and parts. What made things tricky was the location of the broken tank which was under the staircase in a small closet. Plus the particular water heater needed was not a full size, it was a shorter model, 35 gallons. Dave was thorough, tidy and explained everything. Matter of fact, we had several great conversations during the day about a variety of topics unrelated to home repairs. It was a pleasure working with Dave and I will call him again when needed. I recommend that you contact Dave to discuss your project. His years of construction and plumbing experience and his wealth of knowledge are wonderful."

"We had several plumbers come and look at a leaking pipe. They either tried to up charge or said we needed our tub ripped out. The two gentleman from Boss knew exactly what they were doing. They replaced the pipe at an affordable cost and did it immediately. I plan on using them in the near future and referring them to other people."

"Just too expensive for what you get. Feels like a big company nickel and dime move. I get having a trip charge. Which was $109. But then to have the tech who was great btw (not his fault), but was tentative about fixing the problem because of creating more damage. Another $160 for a simple diagnostic charge, again without fixing the problem. I already knew the diagnosis. So he basically did a Band-Aid fix (greased the Knob) and still charged me over $280+ for what equated to be 10 minutes of work. It was ridiculously high for the service provided. Next time I?m going to an independent, local guy."

"I was isolated at home with a broken leg, in the middle of winter, when my old propane hot water heater died. This company answered the first call I made to them & sent a technician to evaluate the heater the same day. Their team came the next day to take out the old heater and professionally install a new one. They handled everything from A-Z, and the new water heater works perfectly. Their prices were fair & honest and they explained every cost to me. Every single person in this company was so kind & compassionate - from the person handling the phone &, scheduling to the technicians to the owner. Thank you to all of them! I highly recommend Mr. Rooter of Saratoga & would go no where else for future plumbing needs."

FAQs for faucets, fixtures and pipes repair or replace projects in Stillwater, NY

You can absolutely install an outdoor mixture tap outside your home. An outdoor mixer tap blends hot and cold water before it leaves the spout, giving you a steady temperature for rinsing produce, washing hands, or spraying down patio furniture. As long as a plumber runs both hot and cold supply lines and insulates them against freezing, a mixer outside performs just like the one in your kitchen.

Outdoor faucet handles come in twist, lever, or knob varieties, all designed to stand up to the elements while giving you precise flow control. They’re built from tough materials yet offer the same comfort and ease of use as indoor faucets. Ask your plumber for a selection and for recommendations on the best option for your needs.

Start by pinpointing the leak—often it’s a worn washer, a loose packing nut, or a damaged gasket. If it’s salvageable, replace the faulty part; otherwise, you may need a new faucet. Always turn off the water before starting repairs, and test thoroughly when you’re done to confirm you’ve stopped the leak.

You can protect your outdoor faucets during the winter months by shutting off the water supply to the outdoor faucet before freezing weather arrives and by always disconnecting any attached hoses. You can further safeguard your outdoor faucets against ice by insulating the pipe and installing a basic faucet cover.

An outdoor faucet can last 20 years, though budget models may wear out in 10, and high-end ones can push 30 or more. Proper installation, routine upkeep, and careful use help you get the most life from any spigot. Ask your plumber for maintenance and care recommendations to get the most from your outdoor faucet.

Replacing an outdoor spigot yourself might work if you’re handy, but a professional plumber guarantees code compliance, reduces the risk of water damage, and offers peace of mind. If you’re not sure about soldering or local regulations, it’s best to hire a licensed plumber for a lasting fix that you can feel confident in.
