"After interviewing several contractors, we hired Gleason{ removed company name} contracting for an extensive fireplace renovation and hardwood floor installation project, and we are so glad we did. Mike and his team refaced our oversized brick fireplace with stacked stone, custom cutting, color matching, and fitting the stone throughout perfectly. Work requiring attention to detail, like the interior of wood box, corners, and installing and finishing the drywall accommodations for mounting the tv, look absolutely outstanding. The hearth was so wide that we could not find a precut slab, but Mike had a connection with a stone mason who fabricated a beautiful, singular blue stone slab approximately ten feet in length, solving yet another challenge. In addition to the fireplace place, they laid the flooring, and stayed on to paint the walls and ceilings. During the work, communication was great. We were kept up-to-date on progress and future work plans. Any questions or concerns were thoughtfully addressed, and all work was done with the utmost care and craftsmanship. "When my roof started leaking I began the arduous task of getting estimates for a new roof. After getting a number of estimates from most of the minor and major roofing companies serving Orange County NY, I was not impressed. Most of the larger companies were expensive and the owner is not involved in the installation. The smaller companies had no website or did not belong to the Better Business Bureau. I also received a couple of estimates from home improvement companies which although they had much lower estimates, they were not accredited with the shingle manufacturer which could void the warranty. As a last resort I called Luna Siding and Roofing, Inc. Their salesman Sam came out the next day and I explained to him I did not need the whole sales pitch about the shingles which I had heard a number of times already. He explained to me that the owner is on site throughout the roof installation. Sam did not give me an estimate on the spot which all of the other contractors previously had. A day or two later I received a detailed estimate of the work to be done with a ton of additional information. I was also impressed with the fact that I was given a 48 hour discounted price which helped to expedite my decision. After doing some research of the company as well as requesting photos of actual work that they had done, I signed a contract. To my luck they had an immediate opening. Within a few days after sending a deposit, the owner Rolando and his crew arrived 7am in the morning and immediately went to work. Unfortunately for me the roof sheathing had two problems, it was only 3/8 inch plywood and portions of the roof exposed to direct sunlight all day had melted the shingles onto the plywood which was impossible to remove. After doing some quick online research and talking to Rolando, I decided to have the entire roof sheathing replaced with 1/2 inch plywood. Although it was unexpected expense, I do not believe in being penny wise and dollar foolish as the saying goes, putting a new roof over questionable roof sheathing could lead to very expensive problems later which the shingle manufacturer may not cover. Rolando was also flexible with allowing me to pay a small balance in the near future after the holidays. The crew worked throughout the day and were completed by 4 in the afternoon. The yard was completely cleaned and the roof looked great. I would highly recommend Luna Siding and Roofing to friends and family."

"Miguel Amaya is not only an honest, fair and hard working person but he has integrity that is truly rare (and uplifting) in this day and age. I live in Westfield, NJ and had him redo my front walkway. Miguel went out of his way to make sure that I was satisfied with the finished product. He was forced to return because I was sold defective SEK Polysweep product by an unscrupulous vendor. Mr. Amaya redid the work by replacing the SEK product with the much better Gator Maxx polymeric sand. if you need hardscaping work done, hire Miguel Amaya, a decent, hard working, honest professional. STAY AWAY from Empire Building Supplies (see my review on them) and SEK Polysweep -- the product is garbage and the people who make/sell it know nothing about being good people who TRUTHFULLY care about fairness and/or their customer. Mr. Amaya would not accept my paying him a second time although he was forced do the job twice through no fault of his own. It was so unjust ** and yet so telling of the type of decent human being that Miguel Amaya is. Unlike the others I dealt with (at Empire and SEK), he was more interested in doing the right thing by me than he was about money. How rare. I was lucky to find such a good person and worker. I highly recommend him."
