The two chairs had always been in my wife's family, they were rickety and fragile. The chest was in good condition but needed to be refinished. Michael came and spent a fair amount of time discussing what he would do -- for instance, the chairs had once had a tack framing for the upholstery, which sometime in the past had been replaced with stapling -- and gave us a price.
Later, he called and said the chairs were in much worse condition than he had thought. The framing under the upholstery had rotted so he would have to rebuild them to restore the original tacking. (We didn't discuss price since we wanted to do right by the chairs, and were pleasantly surprised that he stuck by his original price! He'd made the contract, he said.)
The two chairs were utterly transformed, beautifully finished, and by removing the stapled upholstery, he recovered a lovely wood decorative framing that we didn't know was there. The new proportions between the upholstery and the wood are much more pleasing. The chairs are now solid as a rock and a showpiece.
Refinishing was less complicated, but he brought out the grain of the wood, which is lovely, and you can clearly see the different woods in exterior.
we are simply delighted.
Readers should know that Michael is as much artist as restorer; he showed us a portfolio of his work restoring (much more than refinishing) some several-century old pieces.

"This provider, Melvin from All City was one of the nicest and most accommodating vendors I have ever worked with. The offer was for a tilting tv mount. I wrote All City and asked if it was possible to get a full motion tv mount. They immediately wrote back and said absolutely but it would be a little extra which I expected as the bracket costs more. Scheduling was very easy and immediate, only like 3 days after I bought the service.

Most importantly, apparently my old New York City address was in the Angies list system and Melvin texted me on the day of the appointment, near the time of the appointment that he was close to my building. Well I knew this didn't sound right as I don't live in a building anymore but rather in a house 40 minutes away from NyC without traffic in Westchester. When I contacted Melvin he couldn't have been nicer or more understanding of the mistake (not sure if it was mine or Angies List but certainly wasn't his) and said no problem he would get in his car and head up to the house now. Anyone who knows NY City and traffic, let alone the extra gas and tolls and time, would understand if Melvin said sorry I can't do today or have to reschedule or have to charge extra now or have to refund altogether but he answered with the easiest going "no problem mistakes happen" and headed right up to Westchester to my house.

Once at my house he found that the install may require an extension cord to run through the wall. I wasn't home but he called me and asked if I had one. I wasn't sure and directed him to where one might be, but in the interim he offered that "not to worry," if I didn't have an extension cord he would run out to a local store and get it for me to complete the install (ends up I had one that he found). People in general don't go out of there way like this, and I greatly appreciated it.

After the install he texted me a picture of the completed job and stated that if I wasn't completely satisfied he would be happy to come back and fix or reposition anything. None of which is needed as the installation was perfectly positioned and professionally installed. If you have the need, I highly recommend Melvin from All City!

"I spoke with prince and got an estimate from him. He was very very nice and professional. He was willing to work with me with the cost of it However, two of my sons are going to do the job instead. So therefore, we did not need his service. But if I ever do need or know somebody else who needs the services, I would recommend, they call Prince."

The cost is higher than epoxy but we think it's worth every penny - the garage now looks incredible and is easy to clean as well. Nick's crew was professional and did an excellent job quickly.
