"thanks to this site, I called Greater Wilm. Structure about a brick house I was buying that had cracked brick and unlevel floors. I assumed I would only (!) need to have that section of the home jacked up and the foundation repaired. Brian returned my call quickly, and met me and my realtor at the house (was a 45 min. drive for him) to give me his opinion and verbal price quote. Many contractors/carpenters would have just focused on the project and the money involved, but Brian wanted to see WHY the house had sunk. He pointed out the major structure issues with the tresses in the attic, joists, as well as other red flags, that would cause problems later. He's a master carpenter and his knowledge, experience (and sense of humor!) was refreshing and valuable. After meeting with him I decided to pull my accepted offer on the home and feel I have saved myself untold amounts of money, stress and frustration. I will definately be hiring this company in the future."

By third month it was clear that project management was the problem. Items such as vanity, toilet and shower door were paid for and on site, but not installed. Why not leave us one working bathroom? More issues with lack of documentation for engineering calculations/cost of materials, poor communication, treatment of subcontractors, not present for county inspections or deliveries of cabinetry, etc. Final straw was the flooring - incorrect wood ordered and installed. Severed relationship. Richie asked us to pay him $ for close out so the subs on site could complete their work. We paid him, but he did not paid his subs and we had to pay twice to get work done."

"Patriot installed a new metal roof in March '23 with extra screws at an additional cost so that we could qualify for hurricane roof certification from NC, ultimately lowering our homeowner's insurance premiums. Unfortunately, Patriot did not take the necessary pictures of the finished work showing the extra screws needed to get the state certification which disqualified me from receiving the discount for the hurricane proof roof and thus higher insurance premiums. The additional cost amounted to more than $4000 over 4 years in higher premiums . They had agreed in writing that they were wrong and were willing to credit me back by check the difference in premium costs but to date and after several promises from their sales mgr, I have received <$1000 with numerous unfulfilled promises from the mgr that they would send the balance. Very disappointed with their mgmt and their commitment to do what they promise and to make right on their mistake."
