"This is the first online review I've ever written -- my experience with this company was that bad. Three aspects that deserve attention: 1) I placed an order and tried to cancel six minutes later. Turns out they don't accept cancellations. 2) I couldn't find a phone number, so I had to work the return/refund by email. The exchange was painful -- so unhelpful I felt like I was interacting with a bad chatbot. 3) I ended up eating shipping costs (expected) and got hit for a 50% restocking fee (unexpected) because I refused the package instead of paying to ship it back. Didn't matter that it went to the correct address, was clearly labeled, and had prior return authorization. So I ended up with a $21 refund on a $60 order, and a lesson learned about where not to buy appliance parts."

"Repair Clinic sent me a water intake valve that had some scuff marks and an unnecessary fixture (which I thought nothing of, assuming it had been removed from a new dishwasher). When the part did not fix my dishwasher's issue, I ordered a circulation pump, which also failed to fix the issue, so I decided to return both parts. Repair Clinic blamed me for the scuff marks and extra fixture, which is unacceptable. They referenced their return policy which states that parts which have been installed cannot be returned, and denied me any form of refund. For all I know, the water intake valve was defective, and I have no recourse. Don't put any stock in the "No-Hassle 365-Day Returns" they proudly tout on their homepage. Instead, expect finger-pointing and uncaring dismissal. You are better off with one of their many competitors."

"Just finished up a few projects with Doug. What started as 3 or 4 things to be done, ended up turning into a few more, and I was so impressed with his work. I am in the process of selling my house, so when more issues came up, he was great about working within my timeline. I found Doug to be EXTREMELY responsive, and so willing to address the additional needs as they came up. I found him to be so easy to work with, and very professional. He knows his stuff! Quality workmanship. I would highly recommend his service. I would give him a 10 out of 10!!!"

"Yesterday CW sent a serviceman by the name of Travell to fix my dryer. He didn't know how to open the panel and he got angry. I offered a help video. This enraged him. He quit the service then invoiced me $128 for today and over $270 for future repair. No explanation. I asked for what parts. Igniter and coils. I only had credit card so he shamed me and went outside to get the card reader. This was the 3rd time without booties and leaving a trail of snow on my wood floors. He took great pleasure in this when i complained. He said "yo, you ain't tell me to do that!" I said "I shouldn't have to" I said I'd call the company with my payment. His card reader was broken. I said "I'll be sure to mention your behavior" This is where he snapped! I escorted him out but prior to getting to the entryway he danced and dug his heels and toes into the wood floor purposely making scuff marks. I couldn't believe it! A fight began.. 3 police cars, broken glass everywhere and he just smiled. Beware CWA."

"We had to use this company due to a warranty claim. Stay clear of this company if you want your appliance fixed. After weeks of going round and round and their shop only being open a couple days a week always due to one thing or another they closed out our ticket with the warranty company and we still have a broken washer. The warranty center sent out another well known appliance company and the gentleman said it was too bad that we had to use North Shore Appliance along with other info he knew about them from working in the same field of work. In my opinion do not waste your time or money with this company!"

"There was a problem on one of the chairs. We had to buy a part of the chair for $20 but they did not charge for me the service, just the part. They are very responsive and professional. I am very satisfied with them."

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Syracuse, NY

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
