"Great service. Eddie Cox come out on a Monday and told me what the worker would do. The worker came out on Wednesday on time both days and did and amazing job. The worker clean up all concrete you would never know they were there.I live in LaPlata had to get permission to widen the end of my driveway. You would never know that that they touch my driveway it look beautiful. I call several concrete companies in Charles county and these company were rude and took week to call me back. One companies I call still waiting for a call back. But thank to 7th State Builders, LLC I got the job done and excellent job. Due to a stroke I had the driveway widen to give me more freedom. "Wow - punctual, courteous, professional, honest, and couldn't have asked for more.  First of all, a quick comment:  Most of the "A" rated services would not accept my business because I have pellet stove inserts.  I assume this is simply because the stove has to be pulled out and disconnected.  Metropolitan Chimney Masonry Service Inc. accepted immediately, and was very prompt and professional throughout. 
   Our rep showed up exactly on time, and explained everything that was to be done.  He was very careful while moving items around to gain access to the pellet stove, and answered all of my questions thoroughly.  He was very pleasant to work with.
    Special note:  I was a bit worried, as I have never employed a chimney sweep before, and a neighbor said that she needed to have a lot of work done.  Since it's a bit like taking your car into the shop (your flux capacitor is shot), the average Joe doesn't really know what's really needed in the dark recesses of our chimneys.  I was both relieved and very impressed with his explanation that my chimney was in fact in "very good" shape, no special or significant repairs were needed, and it was not very dirty at all (pellets produce low ash, he explained).  The crown is a bit worn re the masonry, and he showed my a picture and explained what a new crown would do to prevent rain water from seeping into the bricks.  I never felt any pressure, and everything was explained thoroughly.
All in all, outstanding service from a company I trust, and I will definitely be a return customer.  Joe (the average Joe I mentioned earlier)!

"They worked very hard to level and square the retaining walls and patios. We were very impressed by the lack of cutting corners. Our original patio and retaining walls were never properly installed and they appear to have corrected this problem. For years, we also had a drainage problem on the two sides of the house. They installed a French drain on one side and a basin drain on the other. Time will tell if this completely solves the problem, but the drains were working over the last two days of rain. We were so impressed by the quality of their work that we are having them come back to do a few more landscaping items.

"Fernando evaluated a stone facade on my Colonial Beach, VA townhouse that had come loose due to poor builder construction. "WONDERFUL!  I have other contractors take one look at my deck and tell me that whoever built it did a great job.  Steve had to work with another contractor that was doing some stonework and asphalt work who had some difficulty keeping to schedule.  In spite of Steve's numerous efforts to contact the other contractor, he maintained his professional and patient demeanor and made every effort to work around any difficulties that arose.  I would most DEFINITELY recommend Powerhouse Remodeling to anyone and everyone.  Great Job Guys!

"The process began with their designer, Jean, coming to the house and discussing what we wanted and offering some ideas.  Within days we had an estimate and design.  We revised from there and agreed to the work.  They actually were able to being early as another job had to be delayed as the people were not ready for them.  The workers were good and efficient and Colin, the owner, made certain work proceeded well and any questions we had were promptly answered.  Their workmanship is wonderful.  The stairs and decking on them are great with added touches that made them work for getting to the yard better than expected.   The pavers are beautiful and perfectly installed and the retaining wall is simply outstanding -- the have great stone workers.  All nice to work with and attentive to us and detail.

"April 2016: After getting estimates from various providers, i chose Washington for price and pictures on their website. When they first repaved the driveway, they said they would come in the morning but came in the afternoon. They completed the driveway work late in the evening. It looked nice at first. During the same time i had another contractor working on another project at the house and as soon as he saw the driveway, he said the driveway is uneven. I am not an expert so i couldn't tell. That spring, and the summer, i would have puddles in my driveway and my boys couldn't play basketball for hours after the rain was gone. I got busy with work and travel so just couldn't get to talk to Washington about the issue. So in November 2017, I reached out to Joe about the issues we were having and i also sent him the pictures. It took me countless number of emails, phone calls and false promises for them to come out and patch the driveway. Now in July 2018, i still get puddles on the driveway after the rain. And i noticed another serious issue is that because they added 3 inches of asphalt over existing driveway, rain water now flows closer to the house right next to it than before when the driveway was lower and water was flowing away from the house. I am not sure If i can get them to fix this driveway But i wanted to share my experience so other customers are informed. Being expert in the area, I wished Joe and Washington pavement advised me on how rain water would flow when raising the driveway by 3 inches. But I have to say that Joe was polite and respectful every time i called him and whenever i was able to speak to him. But the quality of work wasn't what I expected."
