"He took the time to do the job correctly, cut down pieces as needed, made sure everything fit right and was level. He caulked the edge of all counters and the bonus we weren't aware of til he gave us a quote, he also put the new sink and faucet in and put in all new plumbing underneath. I would definately recommend him to do someone's countertops"

"

Arrived on schedule for quote and for service. After making sure the employees and I were on the same page for work to be performed, which we were, I left the house for a period of time to stay out of their way. When I returned they were nearly done and answered any questions I had, along with an invited walk through to see that everything had been completed. I was delighted with all phases of their work and they turned our old crusty looking tile and grout into what appears to be a new installation. I would and have already recommended their services to anyone who is in need of complete tile and grout cleaning and expects to get what they pay for. Brian and his crew are professionals in their field and obviously do not need to be micromanaged. This was a welcomed outcome after having regrettable conclusions on other companies in all aspects of remodeling our home.

"Everything went smoothly when I? selected and placed the order for my new carpet.? Arnold is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and professional.? He was a great help to me in selecting a beautiful carpet.? After the carpet arrived in Phoenix, everything went? well.? The carpet is excellent and the installers were professional and? fast in tearing out the old and installing the new carpet. However, getting the carpet to Phoenix was a challenge.?The problem was not with Specialized Flooring, but with the supplier, who made errors in processing the order, delaying the arrival of the carpet, creating confusion and frustration for everyone.?Adding to the frustration was the supplier's apparent lack of desire to expedite the corrections of their mistakes to ensure delivery of the carpet.??Arnold was? wonderful getting the problems resolved and he kept me informed every step of the way.??He went the "extra mile" in customer service, demonstrating to me that he valued me as a customer.? I strongly recommend Specialized Flooring for your flooring needs."

"Can't say enough great things about this Company. Loved the workmanship, Mike was meticulous. They arrived the day we had scheduled and worked until the job was finished. They did a fabulous job on the shower surround - simply gorgeous! The flooring was spectacular and truly made the place look like a million bucks. I'm so glad I found this Company. Would recommend them highly."

"From start to finish Rachel and her team were a pleasure to work with. We spoke on multiple occasions, they helped us pick flooring that would work for our needs, provided a fair and timely quote. They completed the job early and we are very happy with our new floors. Would recommend."

FAQs for laminate countertops installation projects in Tempe, AZ

With the right care and a professional installation, laminate counters last 10 to 15 years. Wipe up spills quickly, clean with a nonabrasive product, and keep hot pots off the surface to prevent warping or scorch marks. Limiting prolonged moisture at seams also pays off. Your installer can walk you through simple maintenance habits that will help you squeeze every year out of your new counters.

Yes—if the existing laminate is solid and level, a pro can bond a fresh sheet right on top. They’ll rough up the old surface, apply the correct adhesive, and make precise cuts so the new layer sits tight. Skipping steps can lead to bubbles or weak seams, so this project is best left to an experienced installer who has the tools to deliver a clean, durable finish.

Absolutely, you can give tired laminate a facelift with paint, tile, or a concrete overlay instead of a full tear-out. The key is thorough prep: clean, degrease, and lightly sand so the new finish sticks.

Follow the product instructions for primer, sealers, and cure times, or hire a pro if you’d rather avoid the mess. When done correctly, these updates freshen the look and add a few more years of useful life.

Mix baking soda with just enough water to form a paste, then spread it over the stain and let it sit for five minutes. Wipe away with a soft, damp cloth—don’t scrub, as abrasives can dull the surface. Repeat if needed. For stubborn marks, ask your installer about cleaners made specifically for laminate.

Laminate isn’t built to battle the elements. Water, UV rays, and temperature swings quickly cause swelling, fading, and mold. Even a covered patio won’t protect the material for long. If you’re planning an outdoor kitchen or bar, skip laminate and choose a weather-tough option like stone, tile, or concrete so you don’t end up replacing your counters after the first season.

Traditional laminate isn’t the greenest choice. Most sheets rely on plastics like melamine and can emit trace VOCs over time. They also can’t be recycled at the end of their life. A few brands now use recycled pulp cores, but plastics still make up much of the product.

If sustainability tops your list, consider natural or recyclable materials such as solid wood, stone, or recycled glass instead.
