"If you are looking for a 5 stars shower remodel that is top quality (material and work), look no further. My experience with Hill Country Tub and Shower was the best. Travis came to my house with all the answers to my problems, friendly and easy to talk to. He did not pressure me and answered my calls after. Installation day started bright and early with Phil and Bee covering my furniture and floors where they were going to walk. Very courteous and professional. It took them 2 days to finish the most perfect and beautiful work i have seen done in a shower. Phil stayed after he was done to make sure i understood the new features of my shower and answer a few last questions. I 100% recommend this company for a shower remodeling. I am just sorry i did not do my sink at the same time. Guest bathroom will have to be next!!!! The icing on the cake is that i don’t ever need to clean between the tiles again as the entire wall is one piece and so is the floor ( anti slip is a bonus). extremely satisfied client here!!!!"

"Eric did a great job while giving me my quote. He was very knowledgeable and found some issues with my siding that I hadnt noticed yet. He showed me the product that DaBella was offering and the differences in other siding materials. He worked very hard to make the siding replacement quote affordable and fit all of our needs. I cannot wait to get the new siding."

"The project was on the high end of the price range, the sales guys were nice and had a well put together pitch. The guys who did the work were very nice and did great work. These guys truly were the best part. Now the down side, there was a problem with ordering the shower door and the communication around that was extremely poor. It wasn?t until I wrote an email to the customer service department did anyone get back to me about where my shower door was. Overall it took a little over a month to get the door installed after the shower was complete. That wouldn?t have been so bad if they had better communication about the project. In the end, I am happy with the shower that was installed. I would recommend them, just be prepared to be very proactive about communication if anything goes sideways."

"<p>I contacted 3 different contractors from Angie's list for a quote for a garage.  All three responded by email; 1 provided an outrageous quote and the second honestly replied that he couldn't take the job because of the extra work it would take to complete it.   Mr. Loviolette was the only person who offered to come out a second time and meet with me to discuss what actually could and couldn't be done within my price range.  I appreciated the effort and the time he took to explain the various options and costs associated.  After realizing the garage would have to wait, I started discussing with him the other things I would like to do with the house.  He spent at least an hour just looking at the remodeling requests and what could and couldn't be done based on my budget.  Although he couldn't start immediatley, he was definitely worth the wait!   We made arrangements to create a closet out of an alcove area next to the master bedroom, take out a wall so that the new closet would open into the old one and to enlarge the shower located in the bathroom adjoined to the master bedroom.  The first day he arrived was after an electrical storm that took out a tree and part of the fence in the backyard.  I was moaning and groaning about having to find a tree service to remove the tree and the stump and then someone else to put up the fence.  He offered to do both and did in record time.  The new fence is wonderfully stained, he removed the tree and stump and kindly cut the wood into firewood and stacked it all for me.  </p> On to the house...although I had an idea of what I wanted, I couldn't really conceptualize it into words.  I have books everywhere so I knew one of the things I wanted were built in bookcases on the walls that would form the walk in closet. Mr. Loviolette did a beautiful job on the bookcases in conforming them to fit the structure of the room and adding nice touches such as crown molding on the frame and curio lights to showcase my figurines.  The bookcases ended up looking so natural to the room that friends I've invited over couldn't even remember the hallway, alcove and window that used to be there only a few weeks ago!   Now for the closet.  The alcove area was in the shape of a pentagon and while I conceived of a large closet, he gave me so much more! It's very large and he installed shelves for shoes and my purses, along with a built in vanity cabinet and mirrors.  Topping it off were mini lights that were placed around the top of the ceiling and which are controlled by opening and closing the closet door. <br /> The pièce de résistance though, is the bathroom which has been transformed completely!  The shower and cabintry were all gutted out; the shower enlarged by several feet to accommodate a shower chair and the entire bathroom repainted.  Initially the plan was to put in a pre-fabricated shower with a seat, but after several days of looking, we talked it over and looked at what it would take to just build the new shower.  Again, Mr. Loviolette did an amazing job of creating what I could only try to describe in words.  He went out of his way to help me find the granite, tile, vanity/mirror, shower panel, and faucets in order to complete the remodel. Insead of just having a shower chair, he built a bench in the shower using the leftover granite from the vanity and then incorporated granite squares into the tile to accent the bench. I very much appreciated him going the extra mile by identifying and helping to repair a leak discovered underneath the slab in the shower during the installation process. <br />   <br /> Finally, knowing I was on a budget,Mr. Loviolette spent a lot of time educating me on shopping for materiels so that I was able to get exactly what I wanted without breaking the bank!  He was able to do the majority of the work himself without hiring subcontractors, so that also helped to keep the costs to a minimum.   I commend he and his crew on the nice clean up job done at the end of each day and the care he took to make sure my personal items were covered, cleaned up and/or hauled away both during and at the end of the job.  I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to remodel anything from a small space to large rooms and look forward to working with him again on the next job...kitchen remodel! <br /> <br />"

FAQs for shower installation and replacement projects in Temple, TX

Replacing your tub with a shower can modernize your bathroom and improve accessibility, often providing a high return on investment. However, if it's the only bathtub in your home, removing it may decrease resale value, as many buyers look for at least one bathtub. Consider your long-term plans and consult a real estate professional if resale value is a concern.

While showers cost slightly more to install than tubs, the overall expense depends on various factors such as materials, size, and features. A tub installation costs $2,400 to $8,800 on average, whereas showers average $2,000 to $9,400. Custom designs, luxury fixtures, or extensive plumbing work can increase costs for both options. It's important to assess your specific needs and budget when deciding between installing a shower or a tub.

Converting a tub to a shower generally takes between one and three days. The timeline depends on the complexity of the project, materials chosen, and whether plumbing modifications are necessary. Installing a standard prefabricated shower can be completed quickly, while custom tile work or extensive plumbing changes may extend the project's duration. Planning accordingly can help minimize disruptions during the conversion.

Converting a tub to a shower offers several benefits, including saving space and making your bathroom feel more open and modern. Showers improve accessibility, especially for those with mobility challenges, by eliminating the need to step over a high tub wall. Additionally, updating to a stylish shower can enhance your bathroom's aesthetic appeal and may increase your home's resale value if another tub is available elsewhere in the house.

Choosing between a shower stall and a custom shower depends on your budget and preferences. Prefabricated stalls are less expensive and faster to install but offer limited styles. Custom showers allow personalization of size, materials, and features but cost more and require professional installation. Evaluate your needs and budget to select the best option for your space.

If you’re converting a tub to a shower, you may want to consider remodeling your whole bathroom. The ROI on bathroom remodels is high (over 70%), so you can enjoy an upgraded bathroom while you live in your home and get your money back if you decide to sell later. The average cost to remodel a bathroom is around $6,600 to $16,600, so factor in this price range when you’re budgeting for your project.

Converting a tub to a shower alone isn't easy to DIY, so look for a bathroom remodeler near you if you decide to take on a larger bathroom remodel to ensure it's done correctly.
