"A few years ago, we purchased a home that had been partially flipped. Over the first several months that we lived in the home, we found that the previous owners had intentionally attempted to cover up many water issues in the basement and crawlspace. They were hard-working, courteous and trustworthy. They were especially kind to one of our sons (10 yrs. old) because he loves all things construction and wanted to observe the work while it was in progress. For the first time since purchasing our home, we have a dry basement & crawlspace. We've never been able to utilize these areas like we had intended due to the constant water issue. He reviewed the water infiltration into both craw spaces and explained that because of a wrap around deck preventing digging a perimeter drain on the outside the best solution was a new sump pit at the furnace crawl space and better one at the existing pit area.
