"We used these guys for our kitchen remodel 2 years ago and liked their work and them so well that we hired them to remodel our master bath. The removed the tub (we're geriatric) and installed a new shower with bench, put in new tile floor and reworked the electrical. Although my husband is impatient (these guys are busy and some days only one would be working at our house), they did a beautiful job. No corners were cut - they do beautiful work! Thanks to Jim, Lori, Sarah, Nick, Sergio, Poli, Ismael, Chino and any others I have left out. What a nice group!"

"I purchased 2 cutting boards (one for a chili cook off grand prize for a charity group) and one part of a silent auction set for another charity group! "I was very impressed with Abdul and his team. Abdul was responsive to my texts, offering suggestions and treating us with respect. He listened and made suggestions that allowed our project to stay within budget. He treated us like family. The project started as indicated with efficient use of time. Salvador and his team kept the work area very clean. The tile installation was exceptional. The granite installation beautifully showcased the grains as I had requested. Any concerns we had, were addressed and resolved quickly. The staff at the showroom were courteous and helpful. The showroom has an excellent selection and variety. I would highly recommend DE Flooring Granite & Remodeling to anyone looking for experience, competency and quality work. It was a pleasure working with them and I would hire them again."

"Everything went as planned and were finished prior to the timeline that was set out from the beginning. Roberto is very good at what he does and keeps you updated during all phases of the process. We wrestled with the idea of going cheaper and hiring out each phase of the renovation and doing our own general contracting work, but we are very glad we hired Roberto and his guys to help us instead. At no point during the process was i worried the job wouldn't get done in the manner we wanted it done. The master bath vanities and kitchen island were our signature pieces and Ismael and his guys built them exactly the way we wanted. The tiling was done so well we added on installing stone tile on the fireplaces. One of the fireplaces was not up to Roberto's liking so he made the tiler remove it and fix it at his own cost. Roberto looks at the job as what he would want if it were his house, so never had to worry that he would cut corners or let things not be perfect."

FAQs for laminate countertops installation projects in Texas City, TX

With the right care and a professional installation, laminate counters last 10 to 15 years. Wipe up spills quickly, clean with a nonabrasive product, and keep hot pots off the surface to prevent warping or scorch marks. Limiting prolonged moisture at seams also pays off. Your installer can walk you through simple maintenance habits that will help you squeeze every year out of your new counters.

Yes—if the existing laminate is solid and level, a pro can bond a fresh sheet right on top. They’ll rough up the old surface, apply the correct adhesive, and make precise cuts so the new layer sits tight. Skipping steps can lead to bubbles or weak seams, so this project is best left to an experienced installer who has the tools to deliver a clean, durable finish.

Absolutely, you can give tired laminate a facelift with paint, tile, or a concrete overlay instead of a full tear-out. The key is thorough prep: clean, degrease, and lightly sand so the new finish sticks.

Follow the product instructions for primer, sealers, and cure times, or hire a pro if you’d rather avoid the mess. When done correctly, these updates freshen the look and add a few more years of useful life.

Mix baking soda with just enough water to form a paste, then spread it over the stain and let it sit for five minutes. Wipe away with a soft, damp cloth—don’t scrub, as abrasives can dull the surface. Repeat if needed. For stubborn marks, ask your installer about cleaners made specifically for laminate.

Laminate isn’t built to battle the elements. Water, UV rays, and temperature swings quickly cause swelling, fading, and mold. Even a covered patio won’t protect the material for long. If you’re planning an outdoor kitchen or bar, skip laminate and choose a weather-tough option like stone, tile, or concrete so you don’t end up replacing your counters after the first season.

Traditional laminate isn’t the greenest choice. Most sheets rely on plastics like melamine and can emit trace VOCs over time. They also can’t be recycled at the end of their life. A few brands now use recycled pulp cores, but plastics still make up much of the product.

If sustainability tops your list, consider natural or recyclable materials such as solid wood, stone, or recycled glass instead.
