"I had my condo's balcony enclosure replaced with screens, double glass windows and doors, venetian blinds and flooring, Andrew Mulichak was the design consultant I worked with. He was terrific. He was thorough in explainig my options, helpful in filling out papers for my orders and for financing, He was fun to work with and I recommend calling him if you want a new sunroom or enclosure. I had some installation glitches but the company was good at fixing the problems. I love my new enclosure and I'm glad I hired Patio Enclosures."

"Express Sunrooms did excellent work on screening in my 12x12 patio. They called me back right away and gave me the best price out of 4 companies. The cost was nearly half of what others quoted."

"We've used Tallent's in the past, and they do great work.  This time it took about a month to get the quote, from the time they came to look at what we needed done.  By that time we had already chosen someone else. <br />"

"It went perfectly. I called and spoke to the office immediately. They came out the next day on a Sunday prepared to give an estimate and complete the job. Everything is done. They performed quality work with quality products, very professional, clean-cut, honest, efficient, fair price. We are very happy and highly recommend them."

"Our Sales Representative, Mark Burch, came at the agreed upon time to provide an estimate. He then arranged to come back with an installer to confirm some details and make sure he could deliver on the project as promised. His follow through from start to finish was excellent. There was a bit of a delay for installation with holidays and inclement weather but we were apprised of this. The installers were in and out without incident and clean up was excellent. There was a problem with engineering a sliding glass door and they informed us of this and apparently reordered twice before they were satisfied with the quality of fit. To be honest we could not detect the problem but were appreciative of their attention to detail. There was one crack in a window that developed shortly after installation which was quickly responded to and replaced with no complications or problems. We are very satisfied especially after having a negative experience with the two other estimates we received before going with Window World. Also, the proposed refitting of the breezeway was a better design than proposed by the other two companies and the cost was about 1/2 of the highest bid. <br />"

"South Point Roofing & Construction did what they contracted to do, on schedule, and without hidden charges. As a homeowner, I have had (too) many experiences dealing with contractors who promise a project at a certain price and fail to deliver quality work or find every excuse to charge more for the work than they estimated. After having my roof replaced by South Point, I doubt I'll ever have such an experience again, because I will have them do ALL the work on my home in the future! If you need quality work done professionally, promptly, and for a fair price, South Point is your best option. My experience began by using their website to explain what I wanted done. I completed the on-line form and received a call from Christie the next business day. She confirmed the information I submitted and set up an appointment for Tucker Hawley to come look at the job. Tucker arrived and discussed what I wanted done and made suggestions for the project. He was extremely helpful and took time to explain how the project would progress from the estimate all the way through the process of collecting final payment. I expected him to send me an estimate by email after he took some measurements at the house, but he was far too efficient for that. He accurately measured the square footage of my roof using their drone in a matter of minutes. From there, he was able to produce a full materials list, allow my wife to select the shingles that would look best on our home, and schedule a time for work to begin. Within an hour, Tucker had a contract prepared, our deposit was paid, and the work was scheduled! Before leaving, Tucker explained the buildertrend App, which allowed me to access the schedule for my job, review all documents related to the work, and, most importantly, view photos of my home as work was completed. Right on schedule, the materials were delivered to my home. I received a notification on my phone and pictures of the shingles and other materials (including the invoice) on my phone through the App. The next morning, the construction crew was here and work began. Throughout the day, I continued to receive photos of their work. When problems were uncovered they would document the damage and the repair(s) done to correct the problem. This continued for the next two days until the rain came and delayed progress. As efficient as they had been everywhere else, I was frankly concerned they would be worried about getting to the next job while finishing my work with a skeleton crew. Instead, it seemed their effort redoubled. Schedule changes were updated on the App and Christie, Tucker, and Billy Hawley stayed in contact to keep me advised of what was going on. Unfortunately, counting on the original schedule, I had scheduled Dish to re-install the satellite dish on the new roof Thursday afternoon. (South Point could do this, but other work unrelated to the roof needed to be done by Dish too). When the Dish technician arrived the roof wasn't finished, but South Point's job supervisor worked with him to get my satellite dish reinstalled as they continued the work on the roof. When the work was done, all evidence they had been working seemed to disappear. No nails were left behind, trash was hauled away, and everything was clean. Aside from the beautiful new roof it was like they hadn't been here. I could not be happier with the appearance and quality of my new roof. Several friends saw the work as it was being done and commented on how great it looks. One of them who was in the construction business for several years commented favorably on the quality of the materials they were using and the work being done. I will unhesitatingly recommend South Point to all of my friends for any construction work that needs to be done, and they will be my first call for any work I need in the future."

"Called in mid-April for estimate, Mr. Cook arrived on 4/18/14 and we decided in the next three weeks to go with Williams' after comparisons were made.  Mr. Cook came back out to house and finalized exactly what we wanted, assisting in the decision of shingle choice and color.  If there was any hiccough in the whole hiring, etc, it was that we were left a message by the roofers on the day before, that they would be arriving the next morning.  We never heard the message, and this turned out to be our own answering machine dilemma, but it would have been easier going if, after Mr. Cook had finalized with us, the office would have called to warn us of a start-up date, so that removal of deck furniture, etc could have already been completed.  It all worked out as roofers called from our locked gate @ 6AM on 05/20/14 (shock!) that they had arrived and then helped get everything straight for working. Luckily we were there.  A suggestion would be that the actual subs are given a home number AND any cell numbers as well to avoid this. This is what we did to avoid repeating with other subs. <br /> The roofing team of Larry's was almost mechanical, a well-oiled machine, and it was easy to see as the day progressed how they were able to complete our large house so quickly and efficiently.  it was obvious that they had worked well together for a while as they seemed to know step by step who would be doing what and when.  I never saw anyone slacking or empty-handed.  If they went down the yard with shingles, they came back with trash for the trailer.  They maintained my yard and decks very well, without any damage, using huge tarps when necessary.  One worker walked around in between tasks picking up errant tacks, that missed the tarps, which I appreciated. I continue to pick up some of these as I would have guessed with this large of a project, many that have since fallen from shrubbery. That is/was not a problem and expected.  I did have concerns about cigarette butts and flaming cigarettes thrown from the top of the roof.  I didn't begrudge a guy working on my roof a cig, but out here with only volunteer fire protection, it could become a little more serious.  Unknown to them, I did pour water in one of my bushes that I noticed continued to "smoke" after a butt flew down.  It was okay and I handled it, just a point to think about sometimes. The roofers worked non-stop; I never even saw them stop for lunch.  They would snack with one hand, or grab a drink and continue with the job.  They were all very courteous and easy to talk with. <br /> The couple that worked on our chimney stone did an outstanding job.  The stone matched well and the concrete has even dried so that it is difficult to tell which is old and new stone.  True stone artists.  They were very pleasant as well.  No difficulties at all. <br /> The gutters at the front entrance look outstanding, matching the metal valley pieces well, making it all look thought out and professional.  The plastic drain pipe and drain tray provided looked somewhat out of place with the stone on the front of the house. This was subsequently easily replaced by pieces of leftover stone from the chimney, making it again appear as one seamless idea.  We also found a flat drain extension to run behind the shrubs, extending from the downspout that helps with blending in.  Mr. Cook even took pictures of this to work into future projects. <br /> All in all, this was much less of an ordeal than we had imagined.  I would not hesitate to recommend these particular teams from Williams' to my friends. <br />"

"Great product but the company is a struggle to work with. <br /> On November 16, 2015 I called Enloe Residential and scheduled an appointment for an estimate.  The estimator arrived promptly the next day and gave me an estimate.  I agreed to the work and paid a down payment.  The estimator indicated I would be contacted to schedule the installation soon.  My check cleared my bank two days later.  Unfortunately this would be the last transaction with Enloe that occurred quickly. <br /> After a month of not hearing from Enloe, I called the phone number on my contract to inquire as to when the installation would get scheduled.  My call was transferred but it went to voicemail.  I left a voicemail, giving my name and phone number, address and why I was calling.  A day later my call had not been returned so I called again and left another message.  That message was not returned either.  I called a third time and left a third message which went unreturned. <br /> I gave up and called a different number listed on their advertisements and explained that I had left three messages but no one had returned my calls.  I was transferred to the General Manager but had to leave a voicemail. That message was not returned.  I called again the next day and left another voicemail that was not returned. Finally after nearly a week of calling, I was contacted to schedule the installation.  No one mentioned my voicemails that went unreturned or explain why it took so long to call me back. <br /> The first date for installation had to be postponed due to weather.  Later that day the installer for the soffit repair called to schedule their work.  Unfortunately they did not show up that day (due to a family emergency) and since they didn?t have my phone number written down, they couldn?t call me.  The next day they showed up quite unexpectedly and did their work and told me the gutter installer would be at my home later that day, but no timeframe.  Late that day the gutter installer arrived.  He apologized for not calling because he did not have my phone number. <br /> My check for the down payment cleared my bank in lightning speed, yet it took five weeks to get the work scheduled.  Installers that don?t have the customer?s phone number is obviously a poor business practice.  Further, when I call their company they answer as ?Southern Window and Siding Company.?  At this point I?m still not completely sure who I did business with. <br /> Although this company has a great product, they are very frustrating to work with. On the bright side, the installers (who appear to be sub contractors) are very pleasant, professional and courteous. It was NOT their fault that Enloe Residential didn't give them my phone number. <br /> <br /> <br /> UPDATE 1/13/2016:  After sending Enloe a copy of my review, I received a call from the company's owner.  He apologized very sincerely and explained some steps his company is taking to fix the issues I had.  I firmly believe he will, so I'm amending my review to reflect that I recommend them. If you decide to use Enloe I truly hope you don't have my experience!"

"<p>I was out of the country when the package arrived.  It was accepted by a secretary at the office.  She basically just signed and paid no attention to the condition of the package which the driver put in the back room of the office.  When I first viewed the package it was evident there was damage - several indications of rough handling and most telling, there was paint on the outside of the package which had leaked through one of the seams.  I called UPS before continuing and was informed by them to take extensive pictures of the package prior to opening and during the opening process.  I did so.  The package was specifically designed to ship gallon cans with partitions between on the interior and additional cushioning on the outer walls.  The package displayed several obvious notices including - "fragile", "liquid", "handle with care".  Two of the cans had paint exposed around the seals and paint had spilled into the package as well as having escaped to the outside.  I provided the pictures to UPS, provided a copy of same to Mr. Francis along with the above information.  I was told by UPS that they would resolve the issue with Mr. Francis.  In the meantime, Mr. Francis sent two additional gallons of paint at his own expense to replace the two that were damaged.</p> <p>I was again out of the country for a couple of weeks and upon returning contacted Mr. Francis regarding resolution of his claim.  I was shocked to learn that UPS denied his claim and paid nothing.  I offered to share his cost of providing the two additional cans of paint. He very graciously refused my offer.</p> <p>I would definitely recommend DependaCoat LLC for its product  I would offer greater support for Mr. Francis and his commitment to service and fair dealing, which was unfortunately the exact opposite of the position of UPS.  While it is not infrequent that merchants are fair and provide good service, it is rare in my experience to deal with someone who goes above and beyond to make certain that he/she has not only provided a quality product, but borne the brunt of losses caused by no fault of their own so that the customer is made whole.  Mr. Francis epitomizes that commitment.</p> <p><br /></p>"

"The work went well.  I had initiated the contract in Dec of 2010  in order to take advantage of the tax credits offered for improving our home energy rating.  They assisted in making sure that all documents were completed and accurate for my tax accountant.  Even though they did not get the job completed as early as they had contemplated, it was done in an expedient fashion.  <br /> One of the delay factors was the fact that they had to rely on a sub-contractor to build a box-window that I had requested.  After waiting for some time for that window to come in, they were not satisfied with the quality of the finished product.  Therefore, they took a little more time to build the box-window themselves and did a fine job.  This indicates the high standards that they demand before they put their name on any product. <br /> <br /> I would highly recommend the Tompkins Company for any work required."

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Thomson, GA

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
