"Abatement and Remediation are not for the weak or weary - whether managing a personal or professional project, proper containment practices and efforts are essential. I will forever recommend and promote All Clear Environmental - a family-run business with hands-on customer relations. Larry Enos and his son, Beckett, put forth great effort to communicate, assess, and manage the process in good faith. All Clear's team of Rigo et al, handled the physical abatement and remediation, in our home. Rigo and his team made us feel 100% safe, confident, and secure throughout each stage - which was no easy feat with children and pets, in a home. And while there are no accolades for being second-round mold recipients, we hit the jackpot in working with All Clear. We have worked with other companies only to be left with poor communication, a tendency to be overcharged, and dishonesty. Beckett was available almost 24/7 to answer questions via text and live calls. When I felt doubt, Beckett made time to discuss alternative avenues and ensure our best interests were at the forefront of every decision. I recommend All Clear Environmental to friends, neighbors, and strangers with 6/5 stars. Your house is your home - and mold is personal. A company that recognizes the need to love your home well, is a gem beyond measure. Thank you, All Clear Environmental - good people attract good people! Gratefully, Jackie"

"The owner, Tamir (Tommy) was very responsive and came out in person to assess mold damage  on July 18, 2014.  I signed the mold remediation contract on July 21.  Prior to beginning the mold remediation work, an asbestos assessment was required due to the age of the property.  I found and paid for an independent asbestos assessment which showed asbestos positive on July 23.  On July 29 I signed an asbestos abatement addendum proposal and abatement was completed on August 4, followed by mold remediation on August 6.   Mold post-remediation testing only was required and completed by an independent company and paid by me. Mold/asbestos remediation was signed off by me on August 21. Although the entire process took about a month to complete the work was done efficiently and effectively as evidenced by the post-remediation report..  The office staff was very professional and kept me apprised of worker arrival dates/times and the owner was personally involved to assure everything was completed safely and correctly.  I would definitely recommend this company for mold/asbestos remediation. <br />"

"Even during a hard difficult time of needing asbestos abatement removal they were able to discuss and walk me through the steps on what was going to be done, how it was going to be done and what I needed to do in order for the asbestos to be removed. Best company to hire and I would highly recommend giving them a call."

"Chuck at One Source Group was very responsive.  He was able to send someone to take samples of the ceiling on the day after I first called him.  The person checked the condition of the ceilings throughout the house and looked to see that they all appeared to have had the acoustic coating blown on at the same time.  He took 3 samples from 3 different places for submission to the testing lab.  Chuck told me that they usually get results within 48 hours, and he did have the results for me by then.  He called and told me that asbestos had been confirmed, then sent me the testing report for my records. <br /> The only reason I rated One Source as a B rather than an A in professionalism is that the representative who came to take the samples reeked of stale cigarette smoke.  He was a nice guy, but I was glad it was a warm day so I could leave the doors and windows open to minimize the smoke smell that he carried in. <br /> I was very satisfied with the quality and promptness of the service. <br />"

"This company is very professional for businesses and large problems but if you have a smaller home job like i had, I'd recommend finding another company. I'd never dealt with a mold issue before and i liked that they would take care of everything, which is why I selected them. But after the mold part, i could see that it was going to be very expensive for me so I stopped wirh them and took care of it elsewhere. The reason is that most everything for the damage in one corner of a small room resulted in the quote being "qty 1 unit" minimum and in the end i felt I was paying too much. The contract was very complicated and gives them a lot of flexibility to add more later. That makes sense since damage cases can have unknowns, but i figured the initial quote allowed for some unknowns. I had mold, termite and dry rot damage that was hidden for years due to an unseen roof leak in the wall. They opened the drywall, which i had partially opened already, sealed the area and eliminated the mold. They did a neat and good job. That was $3000 and they did a good job with plastic, clean-up, mold removal. And i had to pay $1800 more for asbestos check, lead check, and final mold testing. That's ok, but i didn't realize in advance how much the other company that they called in would be, with no warning. I accept that now, but maybe I could have had those tests done more cheaply. But in retrospect Scope seemed high to me anyway. They charged for every roll of tape and plastic expected to be used, with no adjustment at the end. But at the end they added another $300 for a job supervisor (not in the original quote) which i think is part of the job for a small homeowner and need not be extra. Especially because they did what they quoted. There were no extra surprises behind the wall. I would understand for a large business, etc. So, the next set of work was going to be to fix the damaged wall and the roof. The wall damage was taking a long time to quote and the roof was already being quoted at $1700 above the $4200 quote I had gotten from an experienced roofer who saw the damage. They even said in the roof quote that they wouldn't haul out the debris. So i stopped them, got a termite repair place to fix the wall the next day for much less than what Scope waa preparing to charge me, and I will also get a guarantee on my roof from my new roofer, and i found a drywall person. So I'm just saying, as a homeowner with what I now consider a minor issue, i would not recommend this place. But if I had a major job or wanted to not deal with it myself, I'm sure they would be great. They had a great contact person (Kathleen) who always kept me informed of progress and workers were good. All their trucks looked new so my neighbors were happy. In the end for me, the cost was my issue. I predicted with Scope this would end up being about $15,200 total. Now, on my own, it will be about $10,000. That makes a big difference to me. And to finish this, I'm using licensed contractors, not guys on the corner."

"<p><strong>I went to 3 different companies for bids to replace all the ductwork, to 12 vents, for my HVAC.  Ethan came and inspected and informed me that I would need asbestos removed first, before they could do the work.  The other 2 companies told me the same thing.  But Ethan said they could get the Asbestos removal company to come in the morning, and they could then go in and replace it all.  The other 2 companies would have done the asbestos removal one day, and the replacement of the ductwork the next day.  That would have left us without A/C on a day and night, when temps were near 100.  That was very applealing to us.  Ethan was also the most reasonably priced, and his price included the asbestos removal, and all permit fees.  I really liked working with Ethan.  He took more time during the initial visit to look in my attic, than any of the others.  He did exactly what he said he would do.  The asbestos people came at 7 AM, his crew moved in at 9:30.  It was so hot that day, they had to take frequent breaks, but they still finished by 4 PM, and I had A/C again.  That saved us the expense of staying in a hotel for the night.  I am so happy with the job they did.  His workers were incredible. and the contract was completed on time.  I will use them for all my HVAC needs in the future.  Thank you Ethan, and thank you for your hard working crew, and for the great people in your office, especially Cat.</strong></p> <br />"

FAQs for asbestos abatement projects in Thousand Oaks, CA

Asbestos is a group of six naturally occurring mineral fibers once commonly used in building materials because of their resistance to heat, electricity, and corrosion. However, in 1975, research confirmed that these fibers cause mesothelioma and other cancers, leading to strict usage laws. If your home contains asbestos, removing it can prevent long-term health effects. You'll often find asbestos in the flooring, ceilings, pipes, and roofing of homes built before the 1990s. Common asbestos-containing materials include vermiculite insulation, vinyl flooring, millboard, and corrugated roofing. If you suspect you have asbestos or any of these materials in your home, it's important to hire a reputable abatement company to perform testing.

Currently, there is no federal licensing mandate for asbestos removal contractors. However, certain cities and states require certification and specialized training. For example, in some areas, contractors handling asbestos must receive an Asbestos Handler Certification. Be sure to check your local laws to ensure any contractor you hire meets the necessary requirements.

Homes constructed before the 1990s can conceal asbestos within building materials, and testing provides a definitive answer. You should have your home tested by a certified asbestos inspection service. This professional evaluation identifies hazardous materials and determines whether removal or encapsulation is necessary. Testing safeguards your family’s health and supports smart budgeting for remediation.

Federal law does not require you to disclose the presence of asbestos when selling your home. However, certain states and local jurisdictions impose disclosure regulations that you must follow. Testing and professional remediation confirm that hazardous materials are properly managed. This proactive approach not only meets legal requirements but also protects your property’s value and buyer health.

Asbestos removal affects a home’s resale value because hazardous materials can deter potential buyers. Having toxic substances present lowers buyer confidence and may reduce the property’s value by 1% to 15% if not addressed. Professional remediation ensures safety standards are met and preserves marketability, protecting your long-term investment.

Grants exist at both federal and state levels to support asbestos testing and removal projects. Local housing programs may also offer financial assistance when asbestos is discovered during home repairs. Meeting certification and testing standards is required to secure these funds, which help to manage overall project costs while ensuring safe remediation.
