"Erinn was my initial contact and he gave a very through and fair estimate. We had structural work done to support floor joists and large beams under the garage that needed replacing. Ernesto and his team, Julio, Salvatore and Gilder worked tirelessly to complete the work and were respectful, punctual, informative and good humoured throughout the entire process. I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to others. A really great company!!"

"I purchased a home which was built in 1950 and was sitting on a crumbling brick foundation. We got a few estimates as the floors were uneven and weak. Built Strong Construction provided photos, references and their price was not the highest nor lowest. They did an incredible job, replaced the entire damaged brick foundation and within just a week I have a brand new concrete foundation! My floors are even, supported and I’m very impressed. Thank"

"Excellent in that Mark identified 6 areas of potential concern and after temporarily fixing them, no rain leaked in for the first time in 11 years.  I am now sending Mark the estimates I have received from 3 roofers, to get his opinion on which one is covering all the items I need to have done, adequately.  I trust him completely.  It's taken 11 years, at least 5 other failed contractors and over $7000 in failed repairs to get to this point.  I wish I had found Mark 11 years ago.  Cannot recommend him highly enough to anyone with a mystery rain leak. <br> <br>"

"I needed a 2-story house's exterior painted. Separately, we were also replacing the house's windows and sliding doors, and there was some stucco work involved as well. That meant the painter would have  to manage important details about dependencies on other contractors, their schedule and sequence of tasks. Out of six painting contractors who bid on the job, Bob Patterson stood out thanks to his attention to detail and his valuable suggestions during the initial walk-through. During that initial consultation, Bob asked several detailed questions to understand the project, but he also came up with several ideas that we implemented. Bob treated the potential engagement like a partnership, rather than simply a new job. As a layman customer and home-owner, I found his consultative style very valuable, and there was no hard-selling. I received from Bob a written estimate, with scope, cost and schedule clearly defined. On cost, Bob's bid was more competitive than the competition. We selected him to do the job. The job finished on time (actually, a half-day early). The quality of the work was top-notch and Bob's experienced crew gets full credit. Every day during the job, Bob was right there working alongside his crew. The results show that he and his team take great pride in their work, and they bring experience and excellence to the outcome. For either exterior or interior paint projects, I would recommend Bob Patterson to my friends and family in a heartbeat. He and his team exemplify a commitment to quality and excellence."

"I went with Juon Painting because I felt Edwin was an honest and sincere businessman and his estimate was one of the lowest I had received (Estimates ranged from $2500 to $10000!). I did have a hard time getting a hold of him when I actually wanted the work done, but it was the Christmas holidays and they were out of town. Once I did get a hold of them, they were ready to start work the next day. Three workmen showed up on time and started the work. They scraped the ceiling in one day and I have high ceilings in the living room. They did a beautiful job of patching up all the holes and cracks in the condo I just bought. The paint job is seamless and the colors I chose were spot on. The lead painter ended up staying late the last day to finish painting the cabinets because I had new countertops put in and didn't realize that I should have scheduled it for another day. He even helped me remove an old doorknob as he waited for the countertop guys to finish so he could paint the kitchen cabinets. They finished a 3BR, 1250 sf unit in three days. I am very pleased with the work. The estimate I received includes painting of the new baseboards once I get the flooring installed. I would totally use them again. Their estimates were very reasonable. The higher estimates claimed they were high because removal of the acoustic ceiling would take days and would be difficult to remove. Juon proved them all wrong as they removed it all in one day and patched the ceiling in the same day! I would highly recommend them and will use them again for future projects."

"I am selling my house and needed to fix the foundation as it was sagging in one of my rooms.  I contacted E.J. and he came to the house and explained the entire process.  He was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional and answered all of my questions and concerns.  I received the quote when they said I would and found the price to be reasonable.  They did not try to up sell me which I appreciated.  The crew was also professional and clean.  They cleaned up around the house daily, I had no problems.  The floor feels solid now and no longer squeaks!  I am very happy with the work performed and the experience with E.J. and his crew was very smooth and stress free.  I will definitely recommend them to anyone who needs foundation work. <br />"

"Our relationship with Adam began in late September, 2013, when we met with him to discuss construction of a guest house on our residential property. At that initial meeting we recognized him to be a gentleman and an articulate expert in construction and engineering.  Over the ensuing nine months there were opportunities for Adam to blow this image...but he never did.  On the contrary, Adam met with skill and grace every challenge imposed by outside entities.  Faced with unanticipated city requirements, he presented us with thoughtful alternatives.  When municipal forces caused delays, he redoubled his efforts to maintain the construction timeline, while continuing to produce a standard of work we would describe as "impeccable."  Adam's creative engineering to insure the safety of electrical systems and longevity of plumbing installations far exceeded industry standards.   <br /> Beyond the construction that Adam completed personally was a range of work performed by sub-contractors.  Adam has amassed a team of subs who perform to his high standards, and also are a pleasure to have on site. <br /> The happy result of our decision to contract with Adam's Construction & Engineering is a structure that promises to be an enduring testament to exceptional knowledge, skill and tenacity.   Adam is a man of honor and integrity, and a skilled professional worthy of any client's trust.  We recommend him without reservation. <br />"

"The foundation inspector came earlier than the appointment time that was scheduled and only gave me 15-20 minutes notice. While other people would appreciate that I do not like to be caught off guard like that. He was very knowledgeable and performed a detailed inspection and provided me with a quote for foundation improvements. He also recommended gutters and helped me to design a cost effective gutter system which he was going to relay to his gutter company. This was impressive. But when I scheduled the gutter inspection the gutter guy did not even show up or call to cancel. i let the Foundation inspector know about this and he did not respond. I was very unimpressed with the fact that he did not respond or acknowledge his gutter inspector's mistake. While the Foundation inspector was very knowledge and professional, I would not recommend services from his company due to their lack of responsiveness. <br />"

FAQs for foundation, basement or crawlspace waterproofing / encapsulation projects in Thousand Oaks, CA

The most affordable way to waterproof your basement is with interior methods like waterproof paint, costing between $1 and $8 per square foot, or silicate concrete sealers priced at $4 to $6 per square foot. However, these solutions are only suitable for certain issues. If your basement moisture is due to more serious problems like a cracked foundation, you'll need more extensive (and costly) repairs.

Absolutely! Waterproofing your basement is a smart investment that can increase your home's value. By keeping your basement dry and free of moisture problems, you protect your home's structural integrity and make it more appealing to potential buyers. Plus, taking proactive measures now can prevent costly water damage repairs down the line.

The time required to waterproof a basement depends on the selected method. Some approaches to interior waterproofing, like paint or sealant, can be completed within a day. Installing new drains or weeping tiles will need at least two to three days of labor. Any forms of exterior waterproofing that require you to excavate land will require an additional three days of work to prepare the ground.

Yes, basement waterproofing can significantly increase your home's value. A dry, leak-free basement is a strong selling point for potential buyers, enhancing your property's desirability and market price. Investing in professional waterproofing not only protects your home's structural integrity but also ensures a healthier living environment by preventing mold and mildew growth.

Waterproofing both the interior and exterior of your basement offers the best protection against moisture. Exterior waterproofing stops water from penetrating your foundation, while interior methods manage any moisture that does enter. If you must choose one, exterior waterproofing is generally more effective, as it prevents water from reaching your home's interior in the first place.
