"Gary, the owner of GK Painting, did a fantastic job repainting and staining all of the exterior trim on my home in Hermosa Beach. He was the first Angie’s List contractor to call me back and met with me later that day to take a look at the job. His proposal was fair and fast, he started the work less than a week later and completed it ahead of schedule. The environment is **** ** wood trim by the beach and Gary and his super polite workers did an excellent job prepping the wood, first power washing it and then taking the time to sand it properly. "We hired Miguel and his crew when we first moved in to install a railing to our basement stairs.  The stairs had a handrail on one side but no spindles and no rail or spindles on the other side.  With small children in the house, this was a safety hazard.  I interviewed 3 contractors and Miguel gave us the best pricing and several options on how to install the rail and spindles.  He and his assistant was able to install a railing that matched the existing railing.  The railing and spindles they installed are SOLID and look great.  They also were able to install a fan in one of the bathrooms.  They connected the vent to an existing vent from another bathroom so did not have to put another hole on the side of my house, which I appreciated.  It was a big job and they got it done all in one day, which was impressive.  My husband was at home at the time and reported that Miguel and his assistant worked very hard and were very professional.
A few months later, we hired Miguel to replace the supporting posts to our deck. Our deck is one story off the ground and the existing supporting posts were not large enough (not up to code).  Miguel put a large horizontal beam across the bottom of the deck and attached 3 sufficiently large vertical supports to the horizontal beam.  They did a good job but the only thing was they did not paint the post to match the rest of the deck.  (Perhaps we should've been more clear about our expectations.)  Also, they used shims on one of the posts and it looks a little unfinished, but the deck seems to be fine so perhaps it's just cosmetic.  Overall, we are please and would hire Cancun Construction again.

"I've hired Brian a few times over the years. The first time I had him replace some swollen particle board in my refrigerator nook. I then had him replace about 80 linear feet of siding on my guest house. Today he came and shaved off some material from a door that was no longer sitting square as the frame had shifted. I opted for the "cheap" fix as I didn't want the walls taken apart to have the door jam reset. He did a great job and no one will be the wiser. Brian always shows up on time and is repsonsible and professional. He has the right tools for the job at hand and has many years of experience. I highly recommend him for simple to complicated projects."

"SES is the best company you can think of when it comes to remodeling your house. I finished my project 6 months ago and the communication was great. Maiia from the office kept on following up with every question we had. We had the SES app that we communicated easier and saw pictures of our project throughout the process. We live half of the year in Russia and due to COVID we couldn't come back so it took a while until we were able to see how it came out. Job was done properly, they cleaned the house when they finished and it was a pleasure to do business with them."
