"Klaus, owner of Resolute Electric, showed up initially to complete the estimate. Klaus was on time, professional and left us feeling we chose the right guy for the job. Klaus provided an estimate within 24 hours, we scheduled the date of the installation and Klaus arrived exactly when he said he would be there. He was very knowledgeable about what needed to be done, did not hesitate to get started and completed installing the flood light in exactly the area we wanted and removed power to the base board heating at the junction box. The flood light needed to be hard wired and Klaus was nothing less than stellar from the moment we met him to the time he left after completing everything we requested. Resolute's pricing is very fair and anyone that uses Resolute will 100% be satisfied with the price and work performed."

"Mark from Duke's Electrical Services was recommended by a friend in the home improvement business whose referrals have always been A+, and Mark certainly lived up to that reputation. Mark and his son were professional, punctual, and communicative. They texted before arriving and showed up exactly on time. Mark performed a thorough electrical inspection, took photos, and reviewed everything with me so I understood the condition of our system. I also asked about a few smaller projects, including a dock light switch and a deck remote-control switch that weren't working. Mark followed through on his promise to return, contacted me within a week, and scheduled the repairs. During that visit, I added two more switch replacements, and they completed all three jobs in under an hour. What impressed me most was their attention to detail. After finishing, they vacuumed the work area. As someone who appreciates cleanliness, that meant a lot. Professional, efficient, cleanliness, very rare find."

"Mr. Len is the consummate professional. I had a new Well dug and was looking for and electrician who had experience wiring the Well to my electrical panel in the house. He arrived on time, got the job completed with little or no cleanup and his price was reasonable. I highly recommend him for any electrical work. Other electricians looked at the job and they all made the job seems so complicated. Thanks Mr. Len, your professionalism and work ethic was greatly appreciated."

"Very reasonable and professional. I've been having problems with my breaker for a few weeks. Called and spoke with Dale and he assured me he'd be out to check on it the following day. He not only fixed my problem with the breaker he also checked other surrounding wires to ensure I wouldn't have future problems! Excellent company and and great work ethics. Highly recommend!!!"

"Mr. Willet was punctual, showing up at the scheduled time of our appointment. He was courteous, ensuring he had proper covering for his shoes when entering our home. Most important, was his respectful demeanor and professionalism. He was able to quickly assess what the job required and we agreed to start the job right away. He had all the required tools and took care to cover our flooring before beginning work. He took great care to install an expensive flush mount crystal chandelier, mounting the bracket, completing the wiring and carefully installing over 100 pieces of fragile crystal elements. After completing the installation, Mr. Willett collected all debris and materials, leaving the work area the way he found it. I would gladly hire Willett electric for future electric work in any of our properties."

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Tilghman, MD

A whole-house surge protector blocks voltage spikes from lightning, grid issues, or even large appliances before they can fry your wiring or electronics. By diverting excess current at the main panel, it shields everything from your HVAC to your phone chargers and can extend the life of pricey appliances. Homeowners in storm-prone regions or with older panels see the biggest payoff, but any home that relies on sensitive electronics benefits.

Most whole-house surge protectors work for two to three years. Low-level spikes—too small to notice—hit your panel every day and slowly wear down the internal components. Once the unit’s capacity is depleted, it can’t prevent a larger surge, so plan to replace it on schedule (or sooner if a major lightning strike occurs) to keep your electronics and HVAC equipment safe.

A surge protector begins guarding your circuits the moment an electrician snaps it into place. Whether the spike originates from a nearby lightning strike or your fridge kicking on, the protector shunts the extra current to ground before it can reach outlets or hard-wired systems, such as your AC. That instant response is why a small upfront cost can save thousands in appliance repairs.

The unit mounts on or next to your main electrical panel. Type 1 models sit on the supply side, catching outside spikes before they hit the breaker. Type 2 devices snap inside the panel and tame surges that start within the house. Either way, placement at the panel lets the protector guard every circuit at once.

Plan to swap the device every three to five years—or sooner if you upgrade your panel, add high-demand appliances, or notice flickering lights and tripped breakers. Relying on a maze of power strips is another red flag that your current setup isn’t keeping up. Replacing the surge protector at these milestones keeps your electrical system on safe footing.
