"They were honest. The project will be to costly as the whole driveway needs replacing and I agree. I was hoping for a fix but that’s not an option"

"Antonio and his crew did an amazing job. They made a small asphalt repair, sealed cracks and re-sealed the driveway. They performed better than expected. I would recommend them to anyone looking for this type of work."

"Unlimited Contracting was th wonky one who was honest , advising me not to put a third layer of asphalt on the existing driveway (which we already knew from online research). Other companies were willing to put on an additional layer if we did not want to remove the exi sting. Asphalt and replace, he was not the cheapest or the most expensive, but he did fantastic work. Driveway looks great and drains properly. Will continue to use them for seal coating maintenance. Cannot recommend enough."

"It went great. He ripped up the old driveway and did not disturb the block that was lining the driveway. He did a clean job. He laid seed for grass around the trim and it came out very clean and nice looking. The guy that did the install was a really nice guy."

"The family owned business were very professional, offered their suggestions to us on the best approach for the job - making it much better than what were had originally thought. Everyone who sees their work is, like us, impressed. Benny and his family worked hard and finished the install quickly. A business that is not afraid to work hard, and to ensure you are happy with the results. Benny was a pleasure to work with, I would definitely use them again and recommend them if you have a paving job."

"The job went great. My driveway was a mess, with 2 -3 layers of significantly aged, crumbling asphalt. Additionally there were divots and mounds caused by tree roots at the driveway entrance. John and team coordinated seamlessly with the township's tree removal service to trim back roots. Re-seating the Belguim block was a quality effort.. Driveway was prepped and left to settle a few days. 2.5 inches of asphalt (many proposals where 2 or even 1.5 around the same price range) . The crew was experienced, professional, & courteous. Overall I'm pretty happy."

"I called the contractor twice. Each time he said he would come the next day but he never showed up or called. In fact, the second I called, he didn't remember that I called the first time. UPDATE: 10/17/2019 They called me and said they have real hardship in the family and apparently the contractor had some mental problems because of the family hardship. They offered that they will do the job for free but I already had the job done."

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Toms River, NJ

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
