We hired John Wood of JAW Construction to transform a building shell originally intended to be a shop for building trusses into a small house (officially an auxiliary dwelling unit or ADU) and are thrilled we found him. Beyond his own expertise, he has assembled a set of sub-contractors that are excellent craftsmen in their own areas of expertise. John sent us pictures of the progress, so that we could monitor from a distance. In addition, he was able to identify and rectify several flaws in our design. "This was the second job I had Joshua do. I had some mold problems in the bathroom due to inadequate ventilation. With Joshua's recommendation, he removed the old undersized fan, which was also in poor location. The new fan is quieter and is removing the air more quickly, he also updated the switch and outlet to a GFCI. The finish work on the sheet rock is very good and I am happy with the quality. Joshua was able to get the work done quickly. The only area I rated him down was that the job went over the original estimate."
