We hired John Wood of JAW Construction to transform a building shell originally intended to be a shop for building trusses into a small house (officially an auxiliary dwelling unit or ADU) and are thrilled we found him. Beyond his own expertise, he has assembled a set of sub-contractors that are excellent craftsmen in their own areas of expertise. John sent us pictures of the progress, so that we could monitor from a distance. In addition, he was able to identify and rectify several flaws in our design. I love that they are a small, locally-owned company, specializing in ADA renovations for the elderly and disabled. Everyone who works for IYH is very attentive and accessible. Time from demo to completion was 3 weeks. Had a great experience working with Kristen (consultant / designer), Lee (project manager), and Israel (demo, framing, drywall, flooring, etc.) Electrician, plumber, and cabinet maker were contractors. We had a few small hiccups along the way (as always happens with a remodel) but staff were very prompt and courteous to resolve them. They hire quality people and take pride in what they do.
