"Very pleased with APS all the way around. Doug offered several options of what he could provide, was not pushy and no upselling. He was able to squeeze my small driveway project in on a time line that worked for me. His crew was efficient and organized and clean. Very happy with the end product. I would recommend APS Chipsealing & Asphalt Paving to anyone."

"These guys were great. I got quotes from 3 different companies. Matt explained the entire process in great detail. Their quote also explained in detail what was included. Their price came in the middle of the 3 quotes. We decided to use these guys because we just felt more comfortable with them during the meeting we had. IT WAS THE RIGHT DECISION. They called the night before the start and explained when they would show up and they were right on time. Same thing for day 2 and the last day. Very professional, friendly and courteous."

"Sunrise Asphalt was a pleasure to work with. They were prompt in providing a competitive estimate. They completed the job in one day. Les and his crew were very attentive to details including discovering a sewer clean-out buried under the existing driveway surface. Les installed a valve box so that we could get access to the cleanout if needed without having to teacup the driveway."

"To start, Lee’s estimator provided the most complete estimate of 4 companies at a competitive price. <br /> <br /> The surface preparation and installation of the asphalt were outstanding. Lee personally checked the site, preparation and completed work to ensure I was satisfied with the project. <br /> Old Pueblo Sealcoating did a great job of preparation prior to the sealcoating to ensure that all dirt and loose old coatings were <br /> removed. They scraped, brushed and power brushed the surface, prior to blowing it clean. Cracks were hot sealed prior to a full hand sealcoat. <br /> Overall I am pleased with the project. I was however, put off by receiving as “Arizona Preliminary Twenty Day Lien Notice” mailed the day after the bill was mailed and 15 days before the bill was due. I understand that contractors have no other recourse to ensure bills are paid, but the issuance was premature and indicated a lack of trust on a job that was not yet complete. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"We purchased our home through an auction in 2009 and the driveway was just gravel. I called several local paving companies for an estimate but Paul from Tucson Asphalt, who I later learned was the owner, was by far the most helpful and informative over the phone. He said he would have an estimator call me within 24 hours and I actually recieved the call within 2 hours. The estimator came out the very next day and we discussed exactly what I wanted and expected. I continued to get several estimates and just as my gut instinct told me, Tucson Asphalt was the most thorough, explaining everything they would do and would not do for the price they gave me. We accepted the estimate and we worked out a schedule to do the work the very next week. The crew was at my home at 7 a.m. and the job was completed by 5:00 p.m. the same day. They had all the equipment required to get the job done and even brought a huge pile of prickley pear cactus to the dump that my husband had piled in our yard, at no extra charge. The next day, Keith, the Superintendant, came by the house to make sure we were happy and that everything was good. We recieved exceptional service starting from the very 1st phone call. The crew did an excellent job and we very professional also. This company from the bottom up is just exemplary. We will never use any other paving contractor other than Tucson Asphalt. Very Happy! Great Company!"

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Tucson, AZ

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
