"mail.We originally contacted the contractor near the end of April since my wife and I wanted to get some stumps removed from our back yard and to replace the fence. We were also wondering if we needed to get the large spruce tree at the front of the house cut down since it was leaning and shedding alot of needles. Ben came out and gave us an estimate for removing the tree, grinding and removing the stumps in the yard, taking down the fence, and grading the sloping back yard, which is what we also wanted.
The quote we received was complete, and stated that it was good for 60 days. Well, work ramped up, and we weren't able to get fence quotes as well as a boundary survey completed until mid to late June after we came back from vacation.At that point, we had decided to leave the tree alone, since we were told it was healthy and not a danger. We also found a fence company we were comfortable working with.
Two days after the 60 days was up, I both telephoned and emailed the company with a revison of the original quote (minus the tree removal)  and said that I hoped that that quote was still good, and that we would like to get the work done within two weeks to coordinate with the fence contractor.
I didn't get any response, so I again left a voice mail.
I understand that it is a small family-owned business, but I would hope that someone would check both email and voice messages at least once a day.  Email is great, but it still doesn't beat the personal touch of a real person's voice on the phone.
I'd still like to hire them, and I know that I let time pass before deciding to hire them, but I would appreciate some contact, please.

"It was okay. They had the wrong address. If it wasn't for me, looking down the street, noticing that they were setting up at the wrong house, the person down the street, would have gotten a free gutter cleaning. They didn't spend a very long time here. But, I also don't know exactly what it takes to clean out gutters. But, my biggest frustration was that they set up at the wrong spot. They did not double check what their work order said. It cost $100. I don't think it was worth $100. They didn't even go to the back of the house. They were done in 20 minutes. I thought that was pretty quick. I was not impressed. There was debris that fell onto the front yard and they never picked it up. There was metal tubing or something. I wouldn't recommend them, especially for the price. Two people came out to do the job. I would tell a family member or a friend to find someone else. They were friendly enough. But they didn't tell me what they did. They didn't tell me they saw anything up there that I should get repaired. I was expecting them to kind of give me a little analysis."

"s was my first job.  I understand how things will work in  the future.  The serviceman put in the fence post with quick dry cement, but he was not able to install the hardware to the new post to hang the fences.  Although I have had no fence for 2 weeks it was no one's fault. I am using the same company to finish the job.

"Although this sounded like a simple job it really turned out to be a major pain. The cable outlet in our new house was located almost dead center on the living room wall about 8' off the floor. We called 4 different companies to find out about moving it to a more practical location. Two never showed up and the other two gave us quotes of over $500 - We tried it ourselves - what a mess!! Pulling cable is something for an expert to do - At that point we needed the cable moved and a giant hole in the wall patched.
We went to Angie's List - found Rick Holdridge, who has a very good rating. We played a bit of phone tag and he came by and gave us a really reasonable quote. It did take a few weeks for them to get to us because they're pretty busy. but when his crew showed up they did a great job in no time at all, they were polite, cleaned up and didn't even mind our crazy dogs.
so, if you don't mind waiting a bit - these are a great group to work with!
