He installed new shower heads in both bathrooms, installed over 40 handles on the new kitchen and bathroom cabinets, fixed the bedroom window with parts ordered from Anderson, caulked nails on the roof and flashing, helped me clean the vent in the bathroom, and even changed burned out bulbs because I can't get up on a ladder. He spent his whole day here, did a fabulous job, and I can't thank him enough."

"They installed the expansion tank. They left the instruction booklet after they left and I was reading it to make sure there weren't any special instruction or anything that I had to do on my end. I had ready that it needed to be installed vertically -- it said must be installed vertically. They actually installed it horizontally so I called them up and mentioned that to them. They had said they had been doing it for years and some applications require them to install them horizontally based on space requirements. They said basically if I wanted them to install it vertically then I was going to have to pay for them to come back out. I told them if they had read the instruction booklet they would have seen it must be installed vertically. They said I would not have any problems. So I ended up calling the manufacturer of the expansion tank and talked to their technical support team. I asked them why they put that in the manual and they said they put it back in there because the expansion tanks get heavy and if it is not supported properly in a horizontal position they can leak. Then I called the Myers company back and told them about that. They just kept saying if I wanted them to come out I was going to have to pay them. It kind of left a sour taste in my mouth because it was something the instruction said it should be done a certain way, yet they did it a different way. I have not had any problem with it and I ended up leaving it as it is because the manufacturer said it would be okay that way. But as far as following directions it would have been kind of nice had they actually read the instructions and followed them. I feel it should have been done based on what the instructions said and not previous installs had gone by. They just did it the way they wanted and just figured I would not say anything about it because I am young. I had spent thousands of dollars with them a year earlier because I had a furnace installed and a hot water heater put in you would think they would send a technician out to spend 10 minutes of time just to do it the way the instructions said, but they wouldn't do it without me sending them more money. Instead if was like $95 for them to come out. And their location is close to mine and it wasn't a big job. It only took a half hour to do the job and to rework it it would not have taken them only half the time. They are a very reputable company. I would have thought they would have stood behind their work a little bit better, but I guess you live and learn. But I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. They called me quick and came out, like, the next day."

"RJ Graham Plumbing was working on a job and scheduled me in for right after they finished the job. They arrived at 4:15, right after they finished the previous job, and worked until after 8 pm until the install of new 50 gallon water heater and all connections and parts were installed and old hot water heater (that died that morning with water all over the furnace room and laundry room floors, which fortunately is concrete and has a drain) removed. They did an excellent job. This company is reliable and we have used their services before."

"we had asked that work not be done the week before our daughter's college graduation.  They called the weekend before and said a rooking crew was available and could do the work on Monday if we wanted to go ahead.  we said OK.  then it rained and they worked on Tuesday and then into Wednesday to finish.  the roofing crews did not always dump debris onto tarps, did not properly address an issue at the chimney leaving a gap above the facia (even though I had pointed out this condition during a walk thru for the bid), and, in my opinion, bent the gutters in two places.  When they fixed the roof at the chimney, they said they must have had some bad caulking because the first hot day after it ran down the side of the chimney in a black gooey mess.  They then had to come back again and clean the chimney and re-fix the problem. <br /> The guy installing the bathroom vent duct  through the attic installed the wye backwards. <br /> The siding crew replaced the moldy HardiPlank and trim.  They pointed out several other bad soffit locations that were not in the original scope and those were fixed by change order.  I had to have them come back and fix several sloppy joint locations, caulk places that had missed and fix other locations where the HardiPlank was installed against roofing but had not yet begun to deteriorate.  During the work on first return they tore a hole in the bedroom screen and we had to have them come back and take the screen off and have it replaced.  In general, their attention to detail and level of craftsmanship was not nearly as good as the work they had done in 2004.  They did eventually fix everything we asked for.  Next time I will look for someone better. <br />"

"A few months ago we purchased a new refrigerator and had the water line installed. The problem was that the conection had been made to the unsoftened water line. These guys corrected this and patched the pipe. The new correct connection was made to a new line they installed. Copper instead of the plastic that had been there. They did a very nice job. We recommend these guys highly."

"Bob is very responsive and was excellent to work with. We rent our house for short-term, mostly weekend rentals, and didn't have a lot of time to complete our projects. We explained our window of time to Bob, and he helped us get everything done to make sure our home was ready when the summer rental season started. We replaced the jalousie windows in our three seasons room with new argon gas windows, and had them cut into the concrete block to install a sliding glass door. The trim looks excellent on the outside of the house, and Steel City did a great job with windows and trim on the inside, including the threshold under the sliding glass door. Steel City was able to do the work we needed, when we needed it, and for a fair price and terms. <br /> We had a couple minor issues with subcontractor workmanship dealing with drywall and framing, but Bob and his subs were all very responsive and all came back to fix the problems in a timely fashion, with no questions asked. Considering the time restrictions we were working under, mistakes do happen and I am glad that they were all relatively minor and were fixed quickly. His plumber is excellent and we will be using him from now for all of our plumbing needs. <br />"
