"Jonathan did me real solids today. Despite the fact that they were here to clean up bascially messes left by the installers on my HVAC on both AC and furnace, he AGAN went ABOVE and BEYOND when he noticed I was doing my own plumbing project. We had hot water seeping out with our water main shut off on a fixture exchange, and he pointed out we can drain the hot water heater partially to stop this. The last plumber didn't eve care to share this, or even do it. I will not go ANY OTHER PLACE than Service Professor for my plumbing, HVAC and electrical needs. PERIOD. No one else compares!"

The technician was prompt, professional, and courteous, and he quickly diagnosed and fixed the issue with my clogged drain. The price was fair and reasonable, and the quality of work was top-notch. I was also impressed with the attention to detail and the extra steps taken to ensure the problem wouldn't happen again. I highly recommend Mike's Drain Service to anyone in need of reliable and efficient drain solutions. Five stars and a big thumbs up from this satisfied customer!"

"Came out on time. Presented two offers. Snaked drain and used camera to detect any other blockage. Cleaned up after. Had to come back a second time to install a part they needed to order. Did a great job."

"I use Eric whenever our apartment complex needs a drain snaked that is too deep/big for my maintenance techs to battle. Eric always answers the phone (and he texts, which is great), he's friendly and polite, and he does a great job. He's in and out quickly on all jobs and is honest when it comes to what the underlying problem is. I've recommended him to many people for his quality of work.

"I would just say the tech wasn't very covid friendly as he didn't wear a mask or gloves. Also didn't honor the 6 ft distance rule. I'm at high risk due to underlying health conditions and hope he wasn't an asymptomatic carrier. I had to sanitize everything I thought he might have touched such as plumbing, door knobs, light switches, railings....etc. I'm still concerned but had to get my plumbing fixed. So I would advise others to ask them to follow the covid guidelines before doing business with them. One would think we wouldn't need to ask. The company should care enough about their customers to just make it mandatory of their employees who go into people's homes!"

"I called on Wednesday afternoon before thanksgiving day. We scheduled an appoint for Friday morning. The technician arrived at about 10:00 am. The technician was very polite, professional and cleaned up after himself. He had the problem identified and fixed within about 1/2 hour. After the repair was complete he gave us a couple of options as far as paying for the repair for that day or choosing a annual plan which included an annual tuneup for the air-conditioner and furnace. He was not high pressure just laid out what the offer was. We choose the later since we needed to have that none anyway next year. Very pleased with the service.

FAQs for drain clog or blockage clearing projects in Vermontville, MI

Snaking a simple clog near a tub, toilet, or sink often takes about five minutes. Deeper blockages along the main line can stretch the job to a few hours because the pro must feed extra cable and may need a camera to confirm the pipe is clear. Either way, specialized tools help pros work quickly and keep your drains running for the long haul.

Aggressive snaking can scratch pipes, push debris deeper, or even crack older lines. That risk is low with an experienced plumber who matches the cable size to the pipe and eases the snake through bends instead of forcing it. If you’re unsure of your technique—or your pipes are already fragile—calling a licensed pro is the safest, and often cheapest, move.

Start with simple barriers: mesh screens on every tub, shower, and sink keep hair, food bits, and jewelry out of the pipes. Skip harsh chemicals; a monthly flush with hot (not boiling) water clears light buildup without damaging plastic lines. Finally, practice smart disposal—no grease, wipes, or kitty litter down the drain—and schedule routine cleanings if you have older plumbing.

Roto‑Rooter typically charges a flat $160 to $450 for standard snaking, which may include a quick sewer inspection and basic clean‑out. Exact pricing depends on the clog’s location and complexity. Repairs or part replacements fall outside that flat fee, so ask for a line‑item estimate if your tech spots broken pipe sections or recommends additional work.

Most liquid cleaners rely on caustic chemicals that eat through hair and grime—but they also erode metal and even some plastics over time. Repeated use strips protective pipe coatings and can leave you with leaks or premature failures. If hot water or a plunger doesn’t help, call a plumber for mechanical removal instead of pouring more chemicals down the line.
