"Took two hours. Charged $125 for the plumber and $85 for the helper. that's basically $210 an hour!!! I had most of the parts needed-PURCHASED NEW-and the plumber used his own $119 for a hose and a couple of angle fittings to change the direction of the hose to point down. Gas was turned off at meter to make connections, water heater had to be relit. Even at this price they did not check the pressure. Total bill $408.64. Was NOT given an itemized invoice with costs. Even after requesting one there is NOT a breakdown of material costs. Yes this is Victoria and many businesses overcharge--not enough competition. This is an exorbitant amount to hook up a stove. I would suggest you ask in ADVANCE what they charge if you call them and ask for a firm quote. I will never use this company again. They have LOST a potential regular customer. VERY DISAPPOINTED AND ANGRY. ( this company cleared a kitchen drain obstruction a couple of months earlier and I was charged $115, which I thought was reasonable. A helper assisted the plumber then and I was NOT charged an extra $85 an hour for this. I thought asking for them to install would have been reasonable based on previous charges which also took at least an hour. I feel that I have been taken advantage of regarding this range installation.)
