"Unlimited Masonry did a superb job. They were polite and diligent communicators from the minute I contacted them. There quote was reasonable and in line with the other companies I contacted. In fact, they were a bit less expensive than some, even though they were willing to do more repair and brick cleaning than other contractors offered to do. We had two large brick planters attached to our home, which was built in the late 70s. One planter wall had split down the middle and was leaning forward. The other planter wall that frames our entry way and front door was detaching from the house. The front of our house is also made of brick on the lower portion, and there were some cracked bricks on the foundation. Both brick walls were stained. They arrived on time, very cheerful (especially for 7AM) worked steadily, and completed the project before noon. I am so delighted with the improvement to our two brick wall planters and the cracked bricks they replaced on the front of our house. They did an excellent job matching hard to find brick from the 70s. The brick wall planters are now straight and sturdy, and the stains have been removed. I highly recommend this business and would definitely hire them again."

"Jason reviewed the job and said I would get the estimate that day and I did. Wow!! Lisaâ s scheduling communication was great. Day/time that job was to start was spot on. The work was all done in one day. Tore down a short Chicago brick wall. Rebuilt the wall after tear down. Care was taken through out the day to keep the job site clean. Tarps were put down to catch all debris. Workers were friendly and answered all questions that I had. Clean up of job site was very good. "If you are looking for paver patios, the installers are great. They did a very nice job, and were professional throughout. They would clean up every day before leaving, addressed any questions we had timely and we are very satisfied with the results. We also added a gazebo to our patio design. It was very clear that gazebo's are not one of their strengths. We encountered many issues with the design and build of the gazebo long before construction began. We had hired Josh in October to complete all elements of the landscaping project the following spring. Over the winter months, we had asked on many occasions for catalog photos, or anything that would confirm what the finished gazebo was going to look like. The pictures were never sent and the only indication of what it might look like came just a few days before the project began and was a very small (1x1) black and white picture. Our expectation of the gazebo was that the material used would be cedar. We had asked for glass windows that could be closed during the cooler and winter months. We were assured on many occasions that cedar material and glass windows were what we were going to get. As they were starting to build the gazebo, the material was not cedar, rather it was pressed wood. As the windows were installed, they were not glass (despite being told that very day they were glass), instead they were a plastic film over the screens. We were left in a very difficult position where we were essentially forced to concede on both elements. While the gazebo is functional, and will suit our needs, had Josh sent just ONE picture sometime in the 5 months or so prior the project start, we may have been able to make a different decision. Related, and something else to be aware of. When trying to reach Josh about start dates, etc I would say he was not always as responsive as I would have expected. Furthermore, there were multiple instances where what was promised was not delivered. Again, if you are looking at a paver or patio project - these guys are great and I would recommend their workmanship. However beware of anything more than that."

"I just wanted to let you know how happy I am with my beautiful retaining wall. The whole experience with Genadek Landscaping and Excavating Inc. was enjoyable. From scheduling thru completion, not only was I treated with respect but so was my house, grounds and neighborhood. Thru the whole process I was treated with courtesy by Stan and his crew. When I told Stan my vision, he found the blocks I had envisioned (other companies told me what they would use and it wasn't what I wanted), when I changed the design a little, asked all kinds of questions and wanted an extra layer of block put on, everyone went with the flow. It felt like there was nothing else that mattered besides making my job and my needs top priority. I really appreciated the men keeping the area clean and I got a kick out of hearing "a clean work site is a happy work site". The wall not only looks great but having seen the accuracy, care and professionalism with which it was built, I'm sure it will last for decades. Not only would I highly recommend Stan and his crew, but so would several of my neighbors who appreiciated their workmanship, courtesy, and professionalism. I should mention that Stan's estimate was competitive and I appreciated knowing up front what any changes would cost.

"Overall, very good.  To protect ourselves from a difficult neighbor, we designed a fence that could be built and repaired from our property only.  Construction was to be in two phases, first, the posts were to be set, then we would excavate and build a small retaining wall, and then phase two was filling in the actual fence.  Only Artistic Fence (Amy Nosebush) took the time to really understand the compexity of the project, its level of difficulty, and our high expectations of work quality.  Accordingly, they had the highest bid, but we expected to pay for the work we felt the project required.  The fence ultimately met most of our expectations.
The low points:  1) On day one, as I was leaving for work, I noticed that one of the concrete forms for the posts was out of alignment.  I talked to the foreman, and he was immediately over-the-top angry and said if I were going to criticize his work "every five minutes", he was quitting the job.  I said little more, left, but called the owner to ask to meet at the house.  When I later checked the rest of the work, most of the forms were in line and the posts themselves looked really good.  I met the owner, explained why the misaligned form was a problem (it meant the retaining wall would be crooked), and he conceded the problem.  We agreed to continue and he would supervise more closely.  2) Before we built the retaining wall, it rained alot.  We discovered sink holes around some of the posts and realized the rain washed dirt into poorly compacted soil.  Most of the posts moved, not from wet ground, but because of poor compacting.  Rather than complain again, I compacted the dirt, trying to keep the posts plumb.  One is crooked, my fault, and of course I notice it all the time.
The high points: 1) To finish the fence, the owner assigned a particular person (Chad I think).  His work is virtually perfect and would make any finish or trim carpenter proud.  2) The fence is now two winters and a summer old, and becuase of Chad's careful work, not a board is warped.  Except for the expected weathering and shrinking, it looks as thorough it was just built.
We highly recommend Artistic Fence.  No one else would have put up with us.  We're sorry we couldn't rate them all A.
