"Iâ ve worked with a number of electrical companies in the past but this company is absolutely the best. They are very prompt in responding and scheduling the service. Furthermore they have outstanding personnel. They have done very basic electrical work to very involved electrical work. It was all outstanding."

"Isaiah Rock is the best electrician we’ve ever hired (in NC or elsewhere). He has completed several projects for us (from chandelier installation to whole house outlet check and replacement to installation of outdoor electrical boxes, etc.). In addition, our home is over 100 years old and Isaiah completed a thorough assessment (and repair, when needed) of shoddy (and dangerous) electrical work performed by other electricians from the past. We could not be more pleased with his level of integrity and professionalism. He is also very patient with, and kind to, animals (and people!) residing in the home. Wouldn’t think of hiring anyone else to do needed electrical work. Highest recommendation."

"I have worked in IT/IS for over 17 years, so I know enough to be dangerous and aware. With that in mind, I can't say enough good things about Paul.Paul was quick to contact me, spent a lot of time with me on the phone during the initial consultation, in person. Paul arrived when he said he would, he did the work well and efficiently. and charged me a more than fair price. Paul was very budget conscience, using my existing network wiring and the routers and cat 5 cables that I was able to scrounge up. To top it off, Paul appears to be a genuinely good person and a great conversationalist. Whether you have some computer/networking knowledge or no little-to-nothing, you are in great hands with Paul and Alpha Team. Just make sure to brew some coffee when Paul comes over and bone up on the new DareDevil and Flash TV series."

"I am so happy we hired Bear Electrical, they were so easy to work with. I had electrical upgrade for a double oven and new wire for a cooktop. I also had recess lighting installed that I am so in love with (looking to add more lights) and upgrade wall sockets. He is a little pricey but I also find them flexible. They are very professional."

"Date: 01/28/19 Task: Electrical Switches, Outlets & Fixtures - Install or Repair I have hired the Blatons for last June to replace the heat pump system. I have peace of mind program. Once a year, the technician came out to check all my electric and plumbing service. It is no cost but it will cost the ONLY something they find it wrong. The Blanton Techs are excellent services, very professional and knowledgeable. Thank you! I have been a Blantonscustomer for first years. Blantons Staff have always been impressed with their service and workmanship, but this was my first experience with their HVAC Technician, John A. was very pleased with honor customer service."

"Couldn't have asked for better service. Issue ID'd and fixed in about 45 seconds flat. Load/line wired wrong. After fixing, secured GFCI and two affected outlets, and then gave a quick block of instruction on the issue. OUTSTANDING! Then, on top of that, I had used a coupon for 2 hours labor for $149.00 so they called the office and got that cut just about in half to what I figure was simply a service call fee. Advised on a washing machine wiring hookup as well which I was able to do myself cuz it was pretty cut and dry. Their knowledge of residential electric and residential CODE was just what we needed. HIGHLY recommend."

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Wake Forest, NC

While homeowners with substantial electrical knowledge might technically attempt a subpanel installation, most local building departments require permits and inspections for this type of work. Professional electricians understand local code requirements, can obtain necessary permits, and ensure the installation meets safety standards. Given the significant safety risks associated with incorrect electrical work, most homeowners benefit from hiring a licensed professional.

A standard subpanel installation takes an average of four to eight hours. This timeframe may extend if you're installing multiple subpanels or adding specialized circuits like those for spa equipment. Factors such as difficult access points, complex wiring paths, or permit processing times can also affect the overall project duration.

Adding a subpanel doesn't directly reduce electricity consumption or lower your utility bills. A subpanel simply redistributes power from your main panel to additional circuits. However, organizing your electrical system more efficiently may help prevent overloaded circuits and the associated problems. For actual cost savings, consider energy-efficient appliances and lighting instead.

The appropriate subpanel size depends on your specific electrical requirements. Consider the number and type of devices you'll be powering, potential future needs, and the capacity of your main electrical panel. An electrician can perform a load calculation to determine the most suitable amperage rating for your situation, ensuring you have adequate power without overpaying for unnecessary capacity.

A main electrical panel connects directly to your utility's power supply and contains your home's primary service disconnect. It distributes electricity throughout your entire house. A subpanel, by contrast, receives power from the main panel and redistributes it to a specific area of your home. Think of the main panel as the primary distribution point and the subpanel as a secondary branch that extends your electrical system's reach.

While electrical upgrades aren't as immediately visible as kitchen or bathroom renovations, they can contribute to your home's functionality and safety. Prospective buyers often appreciate updated electrical systems that can accommodate modern power demands. A properly installed subpanel that provides additional capacity for workshops, home offices, or future expansions could be an attractive feature for certain buyers, though the direct impact on home value varies by market.
