"First of all, I am a real customer. I am not one of those hired guns who write fake, glowing reviews for a company. My husband and I could not be more pleased with Concrete Alpha, Madson Silva and all of the crew and employees. Let me begin by stating that we had originally hired another contractor and ran into significant problems and were forced to terminate him from our job. We were very wary of getting into the same situation, but after consulting with a general contractor we felt we developed the proper questions to ask. Mr. Silva gave us all the right answers on how the patio should be properly built and poured. As I am a stickler for such details as proper insurance and licenses and I was provided with an insurance certificate and copy of the license. I called each insurance company and thoroughly vetted this company and was satisfied that the insurance was in place. (The prior contractor had lied about his insurance.) The license was also current and valid. We were also provided with a reference in our same subdivision, and while we were never able to meet up in person, we communicated via e-mail and I saw the photos of the work and was pleased. Four for four! This company was able to fit us in on a fairly short schedule, which was great because we had a gaping mud hole and a poorly built cinder block wall in the back yard. Because we installed new, expensive sod a few years ago, we did not want trucks running over it. They laid plywood panels over the grass and drove their skid loader, compactor, and other equipment over the plywood. No damage to our grass! The crew showed up as scheduled, before the sun was even up! The entire cinder block wall, poorly constructed by the other contractor, was knocked down and the entire area was excavated, graded and a trench dug for the footing, all within the first day. The second day the crew was on site again at O'dark early ready to work. They were so good to accommodate a last minute request for a step, as the grade was steep, resulting in a rather high patio which my elderly, arthritic, nearly blind dog would not be able to navigate. They added extra reinforcement with rebar as we are going to place a large hot tub in one area. They even joined the patio to the slab foundation with rebar. My husband and I joked that only the patio and cockroaches will still be around after a nuclear war. The cement was poured, scored, and brushed all in one day, the crew cleaned up the entire area, they even took away some garbage bags of ours along with their garbage, and even swept off our front walk! Unbelievable. Honestly, I could cry. I think I'll invite them all to holiday dinners. The patio is beautiful. We cannot wait for it to be cured so we can use it (as the project was completed just one day prior to my writing this review.) When we are ready, we plan to have them back to put in a new driveway. Do yourself a favor, research, research, research, then hire Concrete Alpha."

"Eddie came out and gave an estimate. He was professional and personable and set a date and time for the following week to do the job. Due to other (larger) work obligations, Eddie wasn't able to keep the appointment. However, he sent his son, who was just as professional and personable! The job was completed without any issues. I was impressed (and grateful) that Eddie didn't put me on the back burner and reschedule because it was such a small job. This malady in my floor was preventing me from installing hardwood flooring so I am very happy it is done!

"We freaked out when we first saw the water coming into our basement and called the first companies we could think of (Bigger companies that you hear on the radio). The first one could not get out to even look and give a quote for 2 weeks. The second was 3 weeks. After a couple of days of calming down, we called a company that looked good, would fix the leak, and not make a major production of trying to repair the foundation. After 2 tries, they would not call back. Based on the ratings on Angie's List, we called A Best Dry Waterproofing. It looked like they would do about the same as the one that would not call back. Well holy cow!! Not only did he call back, but within 1 (one !!) week he had come out, given a quote, and had it fixed. Everything was done from outside, no major foundation work, no cutting troughs inside the basement. If the big names cannot even get out to give a quote for 2 or 3 weeks, how long would it take to actually fix it? Every time it rains, water would run in and waiting weeks or months was just aggravating and stressful. I would definitely use them again, but hopefully won't need to. If you don't want to watch your basement flood every time it rains while waiting for someone that is too busy to even give a quote, do yourself a favor and at least let them provide a quote."

"They had already replaced my retaining wall in August and did a fabulous job. I bemoaned the fact no one would ever see this area and Paul suggested a firepit. I ran with it. He suggested building the patio off the wall, which I'd never seen before, instead of out in the yard. He said the area would have the feel of an outdoor room, which it does. They came out on a Thursday and removed the grass from the area. It had rained a lot so they waited until Monday to pour the patio to give things a chance to dry. After pouring, two guys went on to the next job and two stayed to smooth out the concrete, etc. I figured they would be there for an hour. They were there the rest of the day, smoothing, making the edges pretty, and using a broom to add texture to the concrete to keep it from being slippery when wet. I already had my gas firepit and furniture ready. It was hard to wait for it to completely cure. I love the area, find it so relaxing, and look forward to years of enjoying it. If the need arises for more work of this kind, there's only one place I would call - Driveways R Us."
