I bought a custom fit chimney cap myself for like $200 I think and then had emerald city retrofit and install it for $450."

The rep came out and was up there on the roof a very short time..around 5 minutes. He came down and told me that: <br /> 1) I didn't need a new roof (which coincided with information I had that the trailer had gotten a new roof shortly before I bought it. <br /> 2) I didn't have any broken roof struts. I had one that may be cracked but that was all. <br /> 3) He was sure that the bowing in the roof and the ceiling was the result of settling which was fairly common in older mobile homes. <br /> 4) That repairing the roof now to replace the struts was not a cost effective idea. In fact he called it a waste of money since the bowed struts weren't actually dangerous, just unsightly. The thing to do was wait until I needed a new roof and then they could go in and do all the repairs at the same time. Other wiser I would end up with a partial new roof that would have to be replaced again when the rest of the roof need replacing.<br /> I mentioned that the guy I had before had indicated that it might be urgent he said, and quot;Well sure. If you want to waste your money to pay me twice to do the same job, I'd gladly do that too.and quot; He then gave me an estimate that sounded a bit higher than what an acquaintance had paid another roofing company. The hitch...the acquaintance trouble with the other company overcharging and had to go to quite a bit of hassle to get things settled. I believe when I need a new roof, I will call Horizon Roofing. He could easily have told me it was dangerous and I needed to get it fixed right away and I would not have known otherwise. </p> <br />"
