"Dario and his team did an amazing job on our concrete patio. We had several quotes, and his was by far the most competitive. We also really appreciated the valuable advice and flexibility he offered throughout the process. I would highly recommend them!"

"Great work by Mandarino Construction, and they had the lowest quote. They also honored their quote from February, even though I didn't give them the go-ahead until April and they didn't start until October. They were fully aware of my city's codes, applied for the the building permit and scheduled the open-form inspection before pouring. They knew all of the things I either didn't know or didn't think to ask, such as a 4-foot depth under the front stoop. The concrete is nice and even with the garage and the street, and is graded to guide water away from the house in all directions."

"The company did an Exceptional job from the demolition to reinstalling a section of my driveway that had cracked and separated. They arrived on time, were very courteous and completed the work in a timely manner. Dominique and his entire crew were very friendly and did an outstanding job repairing my driveway and cleaning up the area when they were finished. I would highly recommend Dominique and his company to anyone looking for a knowledgeable company to do any kind of concrete installation or repair work."

"Wonderful from start to finish. I highly recommend contractor and Project Manager, Joe Vitale if you are having any concrete work done. I underwent a pretty major renovation of my front yard - had a 75 foot retaining wall built plus a new sidewalk and steps (new concrete pour + stamped) and a section of driveway re-poured. The outcome is phenomenal! My retaining wall and walkway look first rate. I found Joe and the SA Concrete crew to be professional and timely. Joe Vitale showed up for each consultation on time, made great suggestions on my project and completed the job right on time (end of April, 2016). This was a very positive experience."

"Mike and Leo did a great job leveling my front steps taking care not to damage nearby landscaping. They were professional and efficient. They added sand to the poly crack to minimize the color difference where the crack was repaired. They also cleaned up the work area nicely. I would highly recommend Detroit Concrete Leveling."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Warren, MI

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
