"We were so happy with the work that was done by Rick and his crew (Tina, Crystal and Heather) with Colours Cabinet Refinishing. They are wonderful to work with, prompt, friendly and professional. We had new cabinet doors and drawer fronts installed as well as our current boxes refinished. The final product is beautiful! We are thrilled with how it turned out. Thank you Colours Cabinet Refinishing for making our kitchen look gorgeous on a budget!"

"David and his crew were fantastic!  They showed up on the date/time agreed upon months prior. They removed old tile, cultured marble shower and cultured marble countertop.  They put in new tile floor (with heating underneath), opened up the shower area, tiled a brand new shower which included two shower heads and a large glass wall and shower door, and installed a new granite countertop.  They also repainted the cabinets, walls, wainscot and trim, rehung the towel bars, etc., added new electric outlets, installed a heat lamp, built an interior window above the shower, and replaced the ceiling fan. <br /> The work is beautiful and professionally done.  We love it!  David and his crew do not cut corners!  Also, very important to us is that David called us most evenings (as we were not onsite during the day) to discuss the work that was performed, to see if we had any questions, or to let us know if he needed anything from us.  We have worked with other contractors and found that communication was usually terrible.  David is very proactive and we appreciated it very much.  Also, other than the usual dust with construction, David made sure that our house was not left a mess after his workday. <br /> We expect to have some other projects, like kitchen work, in the not too distant future and will definitely call Renovation Crew to do it for us! <br />"

"Southface Renovations completed a renovation of the first floor of our home in 2021. The scope of work included an addition that was approximately 25ft x 5ft (foundation to roofing), removing two interior walls, demo’ing an existing kitchen, installing 5 new windows, refinishing all existing hardwood flooring as well as adding new to match, exterior painting and gutters, and rebuilding the kitchen including all cabinets, countertops, appliances, lighting, plumbing and electrical. The owner Johnny and project manager Andrew were present on site as often as needed and available by text and email nearly 24/7. Workers were on our property nearly every single day and made good progress the entire time. With a project this size there will always be changes to the scope and problems that come up, and Southface handled each of these completely. They finished the job within the budget and timeframe they promised. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone."

"It helped save my life. I recently lost my Husband and his income. My air conditioner went out. My Windows are painted shut. So I thought about adding screens to the burglar iron doors. My Husband was the epitome of a Handyman. With him suddenly and unexpectedly dead and his income too, I felt helpless but not hopeless. I put a request in on Angie’s list. Got four calls. One couldn’t help. One I couldn’t afford. One kept promising to come but did not. But “Handyman” Bidwell Company made and kept an appointment with me, accessed the job, went and priced the cost, provided a reasonable cost that I could afford, accepted the job, made the frame and screens. Today I opened both the front porch and side Carport doors and let God’s breeze of fresh air circulate my lungs and my home, I feel pleased and wonderfully blessed to be able to breathe in my home especially since I suffer from acute asthma. I appreciate their quick turn around, their courteous customer service and professionalisms. Sending a special Thank you to the Bidwell Company and a special “Thank You” to Sawyer Bidwell. Thank You Cynthia Kellum"

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Warrior, AL

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
