"The guys from Radon Environmental arrived on time, installed the equipment and cleaned up after themselves very efficiently. The whole process was very professional and I would use them again/recommend to others."

"No problems with the quality of the work or the time it took, but it was surprisingly expensive. So much so that I almost regretted having the work done. The plumber found the shut-off valves inoperable and began replacing them without telling me about it or the additional cost. I should have looked over his shoulder more often and asked more questions, but I did not. Any repairman beginning additional repairs without asking really rubs me the wrong way and leads to a "B" rating at best and a "No" on hiring again. Learn from my mistake: make certain that you do your research on pricing and agree on a price range and scope of work with Geiler (or anyone, for that matter) before they begin the work."

"I received my radon results in a timely manner. I did not hire them specifically, (so, I cannot say I would hire them again) the local company contracted them for this service. The home inspector I hired, handled this service for me and included the results in his report."

"Epic Radon Solutions out of Brighton MI responded quickly to our Angi inquiry, and arrived within a couple of days to assess our system. We replaced the old fan with a larger new one, which Dustin was able to accomplish within the hour. Very helpful, explained everything, convenient online payment system. Recommended!"

"Overall, I would give then a grade of a "C". System was installed, but lacking in attention to detail. 1) PVC Pipes were installed at angles (not perpendicular or horizontal). 2) Plastic bucket lid used as cover for hole in concrete. Seemed unprofessional... 3) RTV sealant used for everything...seems like a company that has been doing this for this long would have standard PVC trim pieces for their systems so that it would look more professional. 4) Extra unneeded holes drilled through brick wall, filled with RTV sealant... The only real plus is that the work was completed on-time and on-budget."

"As a former assistant Home Inspector. I must say that Greg provided a good service at a great price. I would hire him again for another inspection. I would have liked more pictures in the inspection report though. There were some pictures. But there were several issues that were discussed and that made the report. But no picture to show said defect or issue. No pictures of the attic spaces showing minimal insulation levels, lack of access, and an issue with the furnace flue. As some examples. There is no need for a picture showing every issue, But if there is an issue with a flue located too close to combustible materials or an attic is unable to be accessed. Include a picture showing the issue. Besides the lack of pictures, I would hire again."

"Nova scheduled the first appointment for mid-March and arrived 15 minutes early.  The crew took great care to cover our wood floors to get to the basement.  They were in the house about 6 hours performing the services.  They had to drill holes into the cracks, place ports to inject epoxy and injected the epoxy to seal the cracks.  They also placed a sealing compound over the cracks to cover them and seal in the epoxy.  The crawl space was excellent with a thick heavy duty, puncture proof material lining the walls and floor.  They had to schedule a second appointment to complete the job.  This was completed on 4-21 due to me having obligations that prevented it from being done sooner.  One man arrived on time and removed the ports and cleaned up all residue from the epoxy.  He re-sealed over the cracks with another compound that also better matched the walls.  We have had several severe storms since the first service was completed and not a single leak presented itself!  The service men left my house as clean as they found it on both occasions.  They really seemed to respect my property. "

FAQs for radon gas abatement projects in Warsaw, IN

The only way to know whether your home or water supply contains radon is to schedule a professional test. A qualified radon inspector will collect samples, deliver lab-verified results, and explain the findings for $150 to $800. Once you know your exact levels, you and your radon mitigation pro can choose the right system and tackle the problem before it affects your family’s health.

Both roles tackle radon, but they focus on different steps. Inspectors test your home, interpret the results, and determine whether levels exceed EPA guidelines. Mitigation pros design and install the system that lowers those levels. Some companies do both, but the skills and equipment differ, so always verify that the person you hire is properly certified for the specific service you need.

Installing a mitigation unit fixes radon problems by reducing indoor gas levels to established safe standards. A system designed and installed by a mitigation expert, tailored to your home's specific layout and foundation, guarantees effective radon reduction. This expert installation ensures consistent performance over time while safeguarding your indoor air quality.

Open windows and doors do not reduce radon levels because they trigger a pressure imbalance that draws radon-laden air into your home. This practice fails to control radon concentration and can even worsen the issue. An active suction mitigation system provides a proven, safe, and effective solution to reliably reduce radon levels.

Radon mitigation systems generally last between 10 and 30 years, depending on system type and maintenance. Passive systems endure the longest because they have no moving parts, whereas active systems, which use a fan, require fan replacement every 5 to 10 years. System components, such as PVC pipes, seals, and fittings, can remain effective for decades when paired with periodic inspections and proper maintenance.

Radon mitigation systems consume between 300 and 3,000 kWh of electricity per year, depending on fan size and system design. On average, an active radon fan draws 100 to 300 watts continuously, which translates to roughly 876 kWh annually, and adds $30 to $300 to your energy bill each year. Choosing a high-efficiency fan and ensuring tight sealing around pipes helps minimize these ongoing costs.
