"I'm happy with the installation of radon equipment in my basement. Mike, the owner, provided a fair quote and was professional when working with me. Jay, the installer, was patient and courteous when answering my questions. He is very knowledgeable. I received the radon test performed after the installation. The results were better than I expected. I would encourage anyone needing radon mitigation to talk to Radon Environmental Inc. I'm glad I did."

"I waited a month before getting a test kit I called and was told there was something wrong with the Angies list orders but that I would be receiving a kit soon. It wouldve ben nice if they called me to tell me that though. The test results were quick and on par with other radon test I had done locally."

"No problems with the quality of the work or the time it took, but it was surprisingly expensive. So much so that I almost regretted having the work done. The plumber found the shut-off valves inoperable and began replacing them without telling me about it or the additional cost. I should have looked over his shoulder more often and asked more questions, but I did not. Any repairman beginning additional repairs without asking really rubs me the wrong way and leads to a "B" rating at best and a "No" on hiring again. Learn from my mistake: make certain that you do your research on pricing and agree on a price range and scope of work with Geiler (or anyone, for that matter) before they begin the work."

"Epic Radon Solutions out of Brighton MI responded quickly to our Angi inquiry, and arrived within a couple of days to assess our system. We replaced the old fan with a larger new one, which Dustin was able to accomplish within the hour. Very helpful, explained everything, convenient online payment system. Recommended!"

"As a former assistant Home Inspector. I must say that Greg provided a good service at a great price. I would hire him again for another inspection. I would have liked more pictures in the inspection report though. There were some pictures. But there were several issues that were discussed and that made the report. But no picture to show said defect or issue. No pictures of the attic spaces showing minimal insulation levels, lack of access, and an issue with the furnace flue. As some examples. There is no need for a picture showing every issue, But if there is an issue with a flue located too close to combustible materials or an attic is unable to be accessed. Include a picture showing the issue. Besides the lack of pictures, I would hire again."

"The service we got was great and I would recommend the company. The contractor who did the work was very professional, experienced, and informative. I had been considering an additional collection point because of our complex foundation configuration; however, the contractor advised us to try just the two points (one in the laundry room and one in the crawl)  to see how it went -- with no extra service charge if they needed to return to add another in the rec room. I am so glad we heeded his advice.  The third collection point would have been more expensive for us, and it would have been an eyesore in our rec room.  After the work, the radon level went down from an average of 7.0 -7.5 to an average of 0.5 in the rec room, and the space still looks great. We are quite satisfied. <br /> I will add a small caution about the company's' processes,  though. When we initially called to inquire about the service, we found that the company doesn't come to homes to give estimates. In the initial call, a prospective customer talks to a central sales person who estimates the cost based on the customer's description of the house and the situation. Then, they email an appointment confirmation and proposal describing the work. On the appointed day, the contractor arrives to do the work.  This way of doing business does reduce the overall cost to the customer, I am sure. However, in our case part of the total work we had done was to encapsulate the crawl space -- and the information that I got from the sales rep about what that service would entail was inaccurate. Thus, I contracted with another company to do the encapsulation. When the SWAT service person came and found the crawl space already encapsulated, he said that SWAT would have done the same job. It all turned out well, and we were happy with both companies, but the early communication with SWAT was awkward. <br />"

"My experience with this company was all positive. They were friendly and professional and did excellent work. When they came for the initial estimate, they inspected my basement from the inside and outside. Without being pushy, he suggested other areas that could be improved in the future with my egress windows and downspouts and gave estimated costs. The Epoxy injections were done in 2 sessions and the their finished appearance is nice and smoothed down. None of the cracks have leaked water since. The work is guaranteed for the life of the home, regardless of ownership. I highly recommend this company and wouldn't hesitate to use them again. <br />"

FAQs for radon gas testing projects in Warsaw, IN

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. The gas seeps through cracks in foundations and collects in basements and other low areas. Once you breathe it in, radioactive particles lodge in lung tissue and do long-term damage. Because you can’t see or smell radon, the EPA recommends testing your home every two years—and after major renovations—to keep your family safe.

Yes—every home should be tested. The EPA advises doing it at least every two years and any time you remodel, buy, or sell. On average, one in 15 houses nationwide sits above the recommended limit, and the only way to know where yours stands is a formal test. The equipment simply measures gas levels and won’t change your indoor environment, so the process is completely harmless.

Certified radon professionals—often home inspectors or dedicated radon mitigation contractors—handle testing. These radon testing professionals follow EPA protocols and use calibrated instruments to check levels throughout your house. Hiring a certified radon specialist means results you can trust for real estate deals, insurance requirements, and, most importantly, your family’s health.

Inspectors specialize in measuring radon gas levels, while licensed mitigation contractors design and install the systems that remove it. If your test comes back high, your inspector can point you to a qualified mitigation pro who will size and install the right fan, piping, or other equipment to bring levels down.

No—standard home air purifiers don’t touch radon. They’re built to trap dust and pollen, not radioactive gas. If testing shows high levels, you’ll need a dedicated mitigation system that vents the gas from beneath your home to the outdoors. Relying on a room purifier alone won’t keep your indoor air safe.

Opening a few windows in your home might dilute radon for a short time, but the gas seeps back in as soon as they’re closed. For a lasting fix, you’ll need a professional mitigation system—often a sub-slab depressurization fan—that pulls radon from beneath the foundation and safely vents it outside.
