"Manny was both punctual, professional and knowledgeable in his assessment of my Rental Property kitchen and Laundry Appliances. I trusted his diagnostics with regards to the newly installed kitchen oven and missing ice-maker bin for the automatic ice maker bin. He ordered the parts and returned to replace parts as needed in an efficient, prompt and professional manner. I specially appreciate his professionalism as he noted that factory had not sent the correct ice-maker replacement bin for my freezer equipment and immediately re-ordered it. It was replaced today, Monday 29, June, 2020. In the interim, Manny kept me a rest of the status on delivery of the correct replacement part for this equipment . The cost informed below includes the initial $75/Service Call plus $185/Labor."

"Used this company first time last summer when our 2 year old Samsung
dryer stopped working.  Technician Mo came out during the scheduled time
window, with a call ahead, announcing that he is 10 min.  away.  He
diagnosed the problem quickly (motor kaputt:  human error as I forgot to
place the filter back in its place after removing the lint.)   As it is
a good product and so "young" we decided to invest in a new motor.  It
needed to be ordered and Mo came back installing it when it arrived.
No problem since.
This time around, our 3 year old Electrolux range /
oven needed help as the self cleaning feature did not work.  Mo came
back out, again with a phone call ahead within the scheduled time
window.  He again diagnosed the problem quickly. (The sensor went bad.)
We are following Mo's recommendation to not use the self cleaning
feature as there are grand possibilities to ruin the motherboard when
using this self cleaning feature (the risk is especially high with high
end , sophisticated ranges.)  I bought some baking soda, made a paste
and started cleaning the dirty spot.  I could remove some of it, but
then I needed to get a spray bottle of fume free oven cleaner and
finished the job.  We did not bother getting the sensor replaced as we
decided to skip the self cleaning feature altogether.  Mo has been on
all occasions very professional, courteous and efficient.
Will call them for any appliance repair need in the future.  Highly recommend.
TIP:  Take a look at their website, I have seen a coupn that applies against the repair of an appliance!

"I used A&R Appliance Repair to fix my gas oven that was no longer working. Within minutes of using the request quote feature on Angi, this business reached out to me to get me on the schedule and was able to come out rather quickly. Thanks to Abdul for providing quality and efficient service at a great price. Saved me the hassle of replacing the entire thing! Highly recommend."

"So, after having the estimate done, Rene didn't not come back to the house, his brother did. He was a nice guy, but his work was not the same. The attic work was fine, but they ordered the wrong door(a standard size, even though our's is a custom door/space) and without asking me first, they began cutting away at the custom door frame on my 1923 federal style row home in DC. When I saw this I immediately complained and wanted an explanation....Rene's brother was not helpful and the guys he had working on the door clearly didn't know what they were doing. I guess they weren't skilled enough to improvise and make it work and look good, much less even follow the directions on the storm door packaging. The door was a mess!!!!! If never closed, it didn't latch, it blew open, the pistons broke! I was so upset. I couldn't believe the way they botched the entire entrance. Anyway, Rene did great work, but not his associates or brother. I was frustrated and angry that this was the service given to me. I will never use them again. :(

FAQs for appliance (microwave oven) installation and replacement projects in Washington DC, DC

A pro can finish the job in one to three hours. Countertop models are the quickest, but built-in, drawer, and over-the-range units take longer because the installer may need to run a new outlet, modify cabinets, or add venting. Any add-ons can push the timeline closer to the three-hour mark. Hiring a licensed installer ensures the wiring is safe and the appliance operates at peak performance.

Because an over-the-range microwave doubles as a range hood, it needs proper venting. You can opt for a recirculating model that filters and recirculates air back into the kitchen, or a ducted unit that exhausts outdoors. Are you unsure which route suits your cooking style? Ask your installer for guidance before making a purchase.

Only microwaves labeled “over-the-range” have the built-in venting and lighting that’s necessary for safe, code-compliant use above a stove. Countertop models don’t have those safeguards. Before you swipe your card, have a licensed microwave installer confirm you’re choosing the right unit for the space and ensure compliance with local codes.

It’s best not to install a countertop microwave in your cabinets. Countertop models aren’t designed for use in an enclosed cabinet, and blocking those vents can trap moisture or even create a fire hazard. A built-in or drawer microwave is designed for tight spaces. Run your plans by an installer to make sure you’re buying the right style for the spot.

You don’t need an electrician if the outlet already meets the microwave’s power needs and sits in the right spot. In that case, you’re good to go ahead with the installation. If the outlet is undersized, outdated, or too far away, hire a licensed electrician to install a new one and ensure everything is code-compliant.

With routine care, most microwaves last between five and 10 years. To help them reach their maximum lifespan, wipe up spills immediately, wash the grease filter periodically, avoid using metal dishware, and close the door gently. Those simple habits reduce malfunctions and keep the appliance running smoothly for the long haul.
