"Overall experience was positive. The diagnosis was good and only required a $15 part that was able to install myself. My frig is working great. While my total cost for the repair was $80 which included the $35 diagnostic fee, the lowest other price quote was over $400. I am very pleased with this new type of appliance repair. I will be recommending this my family and friends."

"when tech showed up the dryer seemed to be working and heating however it did not when I called, seemed the heating element was cracked creating and off and on working condition. I went ahead to repair the problem by purchasing a new heating element. I was surprised however that the tech expected me to pay in full before he ordered the part and repaired the problem, but I did using my credit card knowing if there was a issue the credit card co. would have my back, The part was order and Alex fixed it as soon as it came in and was great"

"Very well.  Their goodwill has earned my determination to go to their website next time I need replacement appliance parts. In fact I already have another part for our dryer on order from them."

"Several times (during the winter) automatic delivery of propane was not performed, and I had to use portable heaters to keep the pipes from freezing. When I called them to ask about the deliveries, I was unable to get "emergency" deliveries without paying a hefty surcharge, despite the fact that the auto-delivery failures were their fault. In three events, they failed to deliver the propane saying that the driveway had not been sufficiently plowed (despite FedEx, UPS, the oil delivery company, and ourselves were able to get in and out). I learned when speaking to a driver one day, that this company makes the DRIVERS pay out of their own pockets for towing or any other expenses incurred if they get stuck, and as a result they are extremely cautious and averse to driving on road conditions that are not "perfect." This policy, in my opinion, reflects very poorly on this company's treatment of employees, and I'll never use them again."

"My GE side-by-side refrigerator started losing temperature on a hot Sunday afternoon.   <br /> On Monday I contacted the appliance store I bought it from looking for same day service - nothing for 2 days.  Sears was the same, actually 3 days. <br /> I went to Angie's list and immediately called Mike's cell phone.  I explained the problem and he knew immediately the mother board had failed.  He said he needed to check his supplier and then called me back in 5 minutes to say he could have a mother board the next day.  He gave me a cost and I told him to order the part.  He didn't think he could get to me until Wednesday since he had other work scheduled Tuesday afternoon, which was the earliest the part would be in.  I shared my concern about waiting another day without a refrigerator and he arranged to change his current Tuesday afternoon appointment so I could have my refrigerator back up and running sooner. <br /> A true professional, rearranging his schedule to assist his customer !! <br /> He tolerated the 'help' from my beagles and then spent extra time leveling the refrigerator, which is nearly impossible on my old house floors. <br /> I have already recommended him to my friends and neighbors.. <br /> Great job Mike.  I'm sure you'll be hearing from me again, as the rest of my appliances age. <br /> Mrs. Gary Hanning <br />"

"The heater they supplied was a good one.  However, they sent an inexperienced repairman to replace the heater.  He slipped and fell through our newly remodeled bathroom.  The company repaired the hole in the wall with the wrong texture and then wrong the  type of grout.  We are going to have ceiling repaired by a company recommended by the my daughter who works for one of the largest builders in the country.  I have cancelled my service with the warrantee company.  I now have to pay an additional $150.00 to have the ceiling refloated and all the wrong grout taken off and replaced with the correct type. <br /> <br /> *In response to service provider response: We hired 1 contractor that they recommended. He came out and said that he did a lot of work for High Tech. He fell through the ceiling that same day. We called High Tech the same day. They wanted my husband to go up in to the ceiling to get a model number. He is 79 years old and could not do that. We then had to contact a different service provider and pay an extra $150.00."

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Washington, ME

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
