"Great! Sean and Brad showed up at 8:00 a.m. and got right to it. They listened to what I wanted and made suggestions on the best way to do it. They know what they're doing and they have the equipment to do it right. I was impressed by their hard work and effort to make the job look great, so I've hired them to pour a second slab for me next week!"

"I use Not Just Lawncare LLC in the spring and the fall to do my yard cleanup. They do whatever trimming is necessary of trees, they pick up all the stuff and patch the yard. They pick up thousands of pine cones. "

"Nick and Terri are a small (family) team and they provide personalized service. They worked with us extensively (in person and over email) on developing a specific landscaping plan for our garden, including drawing up "maps" of our property indicating the proposed locations of various new flowers and plants. Once the work was completed, we were disappointed that they had not removed as much of the ground cover and unwanted plants as we had originally discussed; however, Nick was polite and responsive to our concerns and he and Terri returned promptly to perform more removal -- albeit for a (discounted) price. Also, not all of the plants they planted have grown yet this spring, so we are feeling like we may not have gotten the garden we paid for.
When we hired Nick to cover our property for snow removal while we were on vacation in the winter, he performed as promised and the prices were fine. We had no complaints with his snow removal services.
Our experience with Mother Earth was OK overall-- I would tend to use them again for lawnmowing/snow-removal rather than for more elaborate gardening/landscaping services."

FAQs for brick and stone patios, walks, and steps installation projects in Waunakee, WI

When cleaning your flagstone patio, begin by gently hosing off loose dirt and debris. Use a mild solution of white vinegar and water or diluted dish soap to scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using abrasive tools, such as wire brushes, as they can damage the stone’s seal and finish. This careful approach effectively removes mold and grime while preserving the natural beauty of your patio.

Flagstone naturally offers a neutral palette that includes shades of grey, black, red, yellow, brown, and tan, and its inherent color cannot be altered. Choosing varieties like bluestone provides a subtle bluish tint that complements many exterior designs. These natural hues enhance curb appeal and create a refined, timeless look in your outdoor space, ensuring a sophisticated finish with minimal upkeep.

Flagstone for a patio must have a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches to reliably support furniture and foot traffic. Using stone that is two to three inches thick is recommended to ensure lasting durability. The increased thickness prevents cracking under load and enhances long-term performance. Investing in thicker flagstone provides superior stability and resistance to weather conditions, ensuring your outdoor space remains both safe and attractive.

You can paint a flagstone patio by using a high-quality, outdoor elastomeric latex paint designed for heavy foot traffic. Painting not only refreshes the patio’s appearance but also creates a waterproof barrier that protects the stone from damage. Regular reapplication every one to two years maintains its durability and visual appeal, ensuring your patio remains both stylish and well-protected.
