"Alex and team were very professional and responsive to any questions we had during the process. Both visits were efficient and our radon test after the mitigation system went from a 9 to a 1.3. Awesome work!"

"I had PureTech install a radon gas abatement system which lowered my levels from the high teens all the way down below 2 on average. Zach, the technician, was super helpful and great to work with. They even leave this really nice package behind. Results speak for themselves. I recommend PureTech."

"Jeffrey responded almost immediately to my Angie's List inquiry. He rearranged his schedule to fit us in on very short notice and was available, flexible and communicative surrounding the holiday weekend with our and the sellers' changing schedules. He is very friendly, attentive, experienced, thorough and adept. He listens very well and explains in layman's terms - or whatever terms suit his client. The cost noted includes two furnaces and two air conditioners with the Radon test."

"<p>it was superb! they easiest, hassle free Radon test in town, with extremely proficient people -- very knowledgeable and very people-friendly! they took their time to explain things on the phone to me before I committed. the test came back within 10 days or so -- via email. which is very convenient. it was very clear as it is, but I like talking through it and get advice. they were instantly available to discuss. they gave me future tips to keep on top of all things Radon related. </p> <p>I have to say that all this comes to be after 3 months of many back and forths with 3 other companies -- none of the other companies could be bothered to schedule a time, and those who did, never showed up.. many times over. I don't know why I was so patient with them and I wish had discovered Environmental Testing & Research Laboratories much sooner.</p> <p>Really highly recommend them!</p> <br />"

"Scott provided A+ service!!! He responded quickly to my initial contact to schedule the inspection and when there was a hiccup on my end he was very flexible to reschedule. He arrived at the home early and explained the process step-by-step along the way. Scott also involved me in the inspection process as little or as much as I wanted to be, including answering all of my questions in a way an inexperienced home buyer could understand. The current home owner was there during the inspection and Scott was considerate and professional throughout the entire process. Once the inspection was completed, Scott provided me with additional information on home maintenance and offered to be available if I had any further questions before leaving the site. In addition, he emailed me the final report including detailed pictures that same evening! I can not recommend Scott enough for home inspection services, he was prompt, professional, friendly, patient, and thorough, all at a reasonable cost! <br />"

An examination of a real estate property's condition, usually performed in connection with the property's sale. A qualified home inspector can assess the condition of a property's roof, foundation, heating and cooling systems, plumbing, electrical work, water and sewage, and some fire and safety issues. In addition, the home inspector will look for evidence of insect, water or fire damage or any other issue that may affect the value of the property.

"Called a few days before, and got a quote, found there website online, which had a 100 dollar coupon. They were extremely friendly on the phone, and walked me through what the repair would consist of. I was able to schedule the repair within a few days of calling. <br /> They called me the day of the repair and let me know the technician would call me when we was about 30 mins away. This was extremely helpful so i didn't have to wait around all day not knowing when he would be showing up. <br /> Inspected the basement and determined the best area for install. Talked me through all the steps of the repair and how the system worked. I proceeded to asked the tech a ton of questions about install and he was very helpful. Full install took approximately 2 hours, which is the time he quoted me. <br /> After work was completed he walked me through what he had done, and the next steps that i needed to take to finish mitigation. <br /> Cleaned up all the mess from drilling and cutting PVC pipe, and left the basement probably cleaner than he found it. <br /> Friendly, fast and helpful. Would recommend to anyone looking for radon mitigation. <br /> <br /> <br />"

FAQs for radon gas testing projects in Wautoma, WI

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. The gas seeps through cracks in foundations and collects in basements and other low areas. Once you breathe it in, radioactive particles lodge in lung tissue and do long-term damage. Because you can’t see or smell radon, the EPA recommends testing your home every two years—and after major renovations—to keep your family safe.

Yes—every home should be tested. The EPA advises doing it at least every two years and any time you remodel, buy, or sell. On average, one in 15 houses nationwide sits above the recommended limit, and the only way to know where yours stands is a formal test. The equipment simply measures gas levels and won’t change your indoor environment, so the process is completely harmless.

Certified radon professionals—often home inspectors or dedicated radon mitigation contractors—handle testing. These radon testing professionals follow EPA protocols and use calibrated instruments to check levels throughout your house. Hiring a certified radon specialist means results you can trust for real estate deals, insurance requirements, and, most importantly, your family’s health.

Inspectors specialize in measuring radon gas levels, while licensed mitigation contractors design and install the systems that remove it. If your test comes back high, your inspector can point you to a qualified mitigation pro who will size and install the right fan, piping, or other equipment to bring levels down.

No—standard home air purifiers don’t touch radon. They’re built to trap dust and pollen, not radioactive gas. If testing shows high levels, you’ll need a dedicated mitigation system that vents the gas from beneath your home to the outdoors. Relying on a room purifier alone won’t keep your indoor air safe.

Opening a few windows in your home might dilute radon for a short time, but the gas seeps back in as soon as they’re closed. For a lasting fix, you’ll need a professional mitigation system—often a sub-slab depressurization fan—that pulls radon from beneath the foundation and safely vents it outside.
