"Paul Sperback is a conscientious professional recommended by a friend because of his meticulous work and attention to detail when painting her home earlier this year. At that time he was just starting his own business.

He is easy to reach, came for an estimate the afternoon that I called, and was able to do the job two days later.

He painted the trim around the two sides and back of our brick ranch house. He is big on prep work to avoid further problems down the road (i.e., moisture issues). He paints efficiently and doesn't let anything go that doesn't look right to him. Our cedar trim looks better than it has ever looked on our thirty year old house. He also transformed a metal side door in our garage and made it look brand new by applying 3 coats of paint. He caulked one side where it had pulled away from the brick and offered to come back and recaulk it if the caulk shrank.

I definitely thought he was worth far more than we paid and will hire him again when we are ready for other jobs."

"I hired Wood Renovation to power wash and stain my deck as well as replace some rotted boards. They did a good job replacing the boards, but they also missed a rotted board, which was not replaced. They did a good job power washing and staining the floor of the deck, but they only used one coat of solid stain on the floor, which was not enough. The Sherwin Williams stain they used even says to use two coats. The ornamental caps that sit on top of the balusters were covered with old, chipping paint, and they did not sand them prior to staining. The owner, Steve, indicated that he normally doesn't include sanding in a bid, but he did come out and try to sand off some of the chipping paint. They also used a paint sprayer for the deck railings, which did not completely cover any of the railings and instead got on my landscaping. I had to have Steve come back out two different times to touch up every railing. Fortunately, he was very nice and accommodating about it. Overall, the quality of the work was not worth $996."

George was willing to work with the ideas that I had for building the fire pit and patio.  He was very responsive during the project when I would stop him and ask questions, or suggest a different way to do the layout and design.  The patio and fire pit turned out nicely.  On the lawn work - seeding, mulching, leveling - I felt that George was trying to get done and get to another job, and maybe didn't spend as much time and care as I would have liked.  If you hire him for a job, be aware that he is pretty much a one man show, and is sometimes slow to respond to emails and calls, and can get behind schedule quickly when the weather is bad.
