"He promptly came over and gave me an estimate. We scheduled it to be done the following week. He called promptly to let me know he was running late on a previous job and was very communicative. He arrived on-time, completed the repair work quickly, professionally. Matt was very friendly, knowledgable and I would recommend. He had a great attitude. I commented that I understood my job was a small job, however he said "no job is too small" and he did appreciate the opportunity to fix it for us. He has great customer service skills and left the site as clean as when he arrived. <br />"

"iCharlie and his son are prompt and courteous. Reasonably priced independent plumbers so less overhead, I guess. Came when they said they would. One water heater replacement occurred on Christmas Day followed by a weekend. They got the brand and model I wanted from Omaha on Monday and installed that morning at no extra charge. For washer discharge change, the cement floor was replaced and smoothed nicely where they had to put in a new clean-out.  The previous owner of my house had used Charlie so he "came with the house" and I am glad of it! <br />"

"I was very happy with the humidifier installation, and I was especially thrilled with the fact that Biggerstaff doesn't charge a $70 service charge, just to com out and diagnose the problem. That's why I called them the second time. <br /> After diagnosing the problem at one visit, Marty scheduled a return visit for another day with appropriate materials. It tood about a half-day's work for Marty to seal everything properly, which required climbing into the attic through a tiny linen closet, then crawling around in the insulation for 3-4 hours. Turns out there was even a 4 inch gap betweein the vent to the outdoors, which was pouring in cold air in the winter, and hot air in the summer. I was especially excited to hear that sealing everything would lower our cooling bills, as well. <br /> Overall, I felt that this technician really knew his stuff, and was a good problem-solver. I really appreciate the fact that he explained the problem to me adequately and didn't treat me like an idiot. The company seems to care about the quality of their service, because when they sent me the bill, they enclosed a questionaire to ask how their doing and how they can improve. The schedulers on the phone were polite and helpful. <br /> Since the 2 visits, things seem to be working quite well, and the humidifier has made a very noticeable difference in the house. I would definitely use them again for heating and air. <br />"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Lincoln, NE

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
