"This pro provided useful information via a virtual (online) video consultation. Since this service does not send technicians to the home, they did not do the actual work. I am considering whether to order parts and try to complete the repair myself or under their virtual direction."

"Very well. Their goodwill has earned my determination to go to their website next time I need replacement appliance parts. In fact I already have another part for our dryer on order from them."

"Overall the workers did a good job. The installation seems sound and everything is working great, although we haven't used the heat yet. Everyone seemed very professional and pleasant. When dealing with the company everything was done on time, no waiting. It did take them almost 2 weeks to send me my final bill but that wasn't really a problem, it just required me to make a phone call to determine what was going on.
Negative items: Some of the seam sealing of the duct work is not very good but that is very minor. Our biggest complaint was that there was little or no effort to clean up debris from the work or even to mitigate the mess from the start. There was PVC and quot;dustand quot; tramped all over the house, bits of wire insulation, dirt, etc. i even found a few extra screws laying on a table that were left over (extras I hope) from installing the new thermostat. They also left the old thermostat on our dining table. I'm glad we don't have small children as these items are choking hazards and the old thermostat contained a glass ampule mercury switch which could easily be broken. Outside, I found a long piece of piping and insulation left behind the AC unit. They drilled a large hole through our foundation to run pipes and wires then left chunks of concrete in the basement and in the garden. Wherever they worked there was evidence of their efforts. It took my wife over an hour to get all the plastic dust and other stuff cleaned up because there was a little pile here, a little pile there, etc.. To some people this may not be a big deal but I worked in residential renovation for many years and we would never leave a mess when we finished so I am very sensitive to this and have high expectations from people that work in my house. I think these guys were in a hurry to get on their way as it was a Friday afternoon when they finished up.
So, long story short, I would use them again but I'd tell the boss to have his workers make sure to clean up when they are done!
Because we went with a costlier unit we were also given a free weeks stay in a vacation condo but honestly I'd rather have the value deducted from my bill."

"My huge Kenmore french door refrigerator was behaving oddly last night, but this morning it was unmistakably ailing. Of course it is the hottest day so far this year, and I had just filled the fridge and its freezer with groceries. Sears was glad to make a service appointment for me, they could be here in a little over a week, but that was absurd. I have used them before, Sears sub-contractors do good work, which is only fair since they cost a LOT, but I was not going to wait a week! I called every local repair shop, left messages or got busy signals, and in the end, reluctantly made an appt for tomorrow with one firm I had heard about but never used before. After waiting all day to hear from someone who could come today, I was about to give up and try to make some sort of dinner from the pantry alone (peanut butter and crackers?) when the man from Hoover's called to find out the problem. He did some research on parts compatibility, called me back, and came right to the house. 'Nuff said."

"The heater they supplied was a good one. However, they sent an inexperienced repairman to replace the heater. He slipped and fell through our newly remodeled bathroom. The company repaired the hole in the wall with the wrong texture and then wrong the type of grout. We are going to have ceiling repaired by a company recommended by the my daughter who works for one of the largest builders in the country. I have cancelled my service with the warrantee company. I now have to pay an additional $150.00 to have the ceiling refloated and all the wrong grout taken off and replaced with the correct type.

*In response to service provider response: We hired 1 contractor that they recommended. He came out and said that he did a lot of work for High Tech. He fell through the ceiling that same day. We called High Tech the same day. They wanted my husband to go up in to the ceiling to get a model number. He is 79 years old and could not do that. We then had to contact a different service provider and pay an extra $150.00."

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Waynesboro, PA

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
