"The plumber who came to review project and place a bid was personable and good at explaining the process of what he would do. The bid he gave was right in line with other bids I decided to go with a "very local" company I discovered during this searching process"

"Ryan did a fantastic job roughing in my post frame building for a bathroom and running a gas line extension from my house. The project had a small window to get the work done, making scheduling a plumber difficult. Citywide arrived on time and provided a professional service and product, rolling with changes that popped up during the build. I will definitely call on Citywide to finish the plumbing in the shop next year and to help with any other future work in our house! I will recommend them to my friends in the area!"

"Lonn arrived on time. He explained everything he was going to do, and verified the price for the water heater and city permit. He laid tarps down to protect our carpeted floor and stairs, and cleaned up after he was done. He also noticed that some of our pipe ceiling hooks/hangers were broken and he replaced those. They took the old water heater away the same day."

"North Central Plumbing gets my highest recommendation. Business owner Todd, and his son Josh were punctual, polite, professional, and highly experienced plumbers. "We called multiple “A” rated contractors who had really excessive installation costs (excluding haul away of the old unit) or would only install their brand of softener. Rob from R & D Plumbing was easily reachable and offered a flat reasonable rate with haul away included. The installation went smooth, no issues at all. Would use R & D again for future plumbing needs, no doubt."

"First of all, Troy is EXTREMELY reliable to communicate with! So many times I contact someone to do work and never hear back. I always heard back from Troy. Every. Time. And while I didn't use him for my countertops (I wanted something very specific only one place carried), I did come back to him when I was ready for the tile to be installed on my backsplash. Even though it was a small job I was treated as well as if it were a big one. The tiler did great work and cleaned up everything afterwards. If you are looking for kitchen remodeling, I highly recommend Hansen's Custom Countertop Services!"

"Joe was great from day 1. Joe helped us navigate through a nightmare of a general contractor, and is still to this day very helpful. Joe was always onsite when he said, and if late or needed to delay he would call to arrange. Joe was a very good communicator and looked for solutions to finish as quick as possible. I highly recommend Joe for any plumbing needs. <br />"

"They cut the wall very carefully to access the pipes and installed an exact replacement unit.  This solved the leaking fixture problem and the frozen vavle in the wall.  We avoided having to re-tile the shower. <br /> Clean-up was very good including covering the hole in the wall and allowing  future access. <br /> Dudah is my go-to plumber for all our plumbing problems. <br /> <br />"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Webster, MN

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
