They did a fantastic job, the crew they sent were very professional, payed attention to details like where the electric wires and extension cords went, made sure they wouldn't be in a place where people could trip over the cords....it came out more beautiful than we expected! "Overall:  Gene and his crew are amazing. Extremely professional, punctual, personable, and honest. He's not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.  He's a perfectionist who understands and enjoys working on older homes.  Would strongly recommend and use again.  <br /> We own a 100 year old Craftsman home in DC.  Gene has a good understanding of how our old home was constructed and what was needed to get the job done.  Despite the large scale of our project, there were no major adjustments to our original quote.  He did an amazing job of mating the new construction (moulding, trim, etc..) with the original/old work.  He's one of those select few who takes joy in working on older homes.  <br /> Gene is a perfectionist.  He redid multiple phases of the project (at no cost) because things were not "perfect.", including: reframing, retiling and regrouting a few areas, and replacing fans that were too loud.   The end result is magazine photo worthy.  Again, you get what you pay for. <br /> They arrived every day on time, and their daily clean up was so good you could eat off the floor. His crew was very courteous. They even helped my elderly neighbor. Her glass dinning room table shattered.  They cleaned it up and fabricated a temporary table so that she had a place to eat until she got a new table. <br /> As with any project of this scale, there were a few hiccups.  Some furniture got damaged but Gene went out of his way to remedy the situation...bringing in a furniture restoration company. <br /> If you want someone who takes pride in his work, is a perfectionist, honest, and places the customer's satisfaction over his bottom line, then Gene is your guy. <br /> My 2 year old already misses him. Gene would often bring my son surprise presents.  My son's always asking "where's Gene?"  <br /> We've had many contractors work on our house.  Gene is hands down the best.  Highly recommend. <br /> My only regret in providing this review is that he will be harder to get the next time we need him. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"Basement (approximately 1200 sq ft) was completed in year (2015). Finished basement comprised of 3 rooms and bathroom. We continue to have plumbing problems until this year. Initially a whistling noise in the pipes was said to be air in the pipes. After being told that the problem was air in the pipes and how to fix it, we tried to no avail to clear the problem. ABHI's plumber came out to observe and he informed us that a piece needed to be installed. Javier, the owner, told us that to repair the problem, we would have to pay more money but that he would split the cost with us. We contacted WSSC. They came out and adjusted something on the piping-free of charge. We contacted ABHI again with another plumbing issue at the installed commode which bubbled and made noises and gave off nauseous gassy fumes at the commode and bath tub when the washing machine was running. When speaking with Javier, we were told that the plumbing was inspected and passed and therefore the additional problems that we are experiencing would be an additional charge to repair. This hardly sounds like it should be the case when none of these problems existed prior to ABHI's plumber finishing the bathroom. Finally, Javier sent a plumber to our home to correct the problem this year and once the work was complete told the plumber to bill us for the work. This despite the fact that these problems only existed from the time ABHI completed the work. This is very unprofessional that Javier would approve work to be done on our home, without notifying us that the expense would be ours. Again, we only found out at the completion of the work what the cost was and that we were going to be asked to pay for it. The plumber still has not been paid in full. Additionally, communication was a continuous problem throughout the project which lasted approximately 5-6 months as opposed to the 2-3 months originally projected. The electrical, framing, drywall, and flooring were completed satisfactorily. Also, when we purchased items for the project (eg. bathroom vanity), Javier was willing to reduce our price by the budgeted allotment for the items since he did not have to make the purchases. All prospective clients: Be very cautious about this company because all fees may not be included in your given price if you experience similar problems after you have made final payment."

"We are extremely pleased with the work of Earth Friendly Services overall.  How the space looks now really exceeds what our expectation was for the end result.  Our basement space was pretty much a mess and posed a number of remodeling challenges, including a very uneven floor surface, moving of the gas meter, support poles in weird places, multiple water valves and other items that require access.  Yet with how it looks now, you'd never know it was such a mess to begin with.  Both of the lead guys for the company, Steve and Bill, were good listeners and were patient with our questions and our issues as things came up when they were doing the work.  Both of them had good attention to detail and worked to get to what we wanted, rather than what would have been easiest for them.  For example, we asked them to use a type of drop-ceiling tile they'd not worked with before, and they got it done, with the result being a fantastic-looking, modern ceiling, rather than the industrial look most weird spaces end up using.  There was no down-time during the project, as someone (usually several people) was/were down in the basement working every day, resulting in their finishing the job exactly in the timeframe that they said they would (originally they said it would take three to three-and-a-half weeks, and they were done in three weeks and three days).  There was none of that "Hey, this is going to cost a little more than we said it would" or any of the nightmare stories you hear from other people getting their basements finished.  It cost exactly what they said it would up-front.  Further, their total cost was $8K lower than the closest bid we received <strong>for the same job!</strong>  It sounds crazy to say this, but these days it feels like an oddity when contractors do exactly what they say they are going to do for exactly what they say it's going to cost, but that is exactly what happened in our experience with Earth Friendly.  This is the company you want to go with if you are on a budget yet nonetheless expect a quality product and a professional contractor with a solid work ethic."
