"Our job included demo of an old garage pad, a driveway, a thick poured concrete patio, and removal of existing grass. The whole yard was gutted and a new gravel shed pad was created, along with a beautiful new paver patio with a step up on either side at the gates. New sod was installed, increasing our green space where the driveway/garage used to run down the side of the yard. Phil cut back the tree branches so it would get enough sun as our yard is shaded in the afternoon. Phil and Janice and their team were wonderful to deal with from start to finish, working with us to get the scope of the job just right before the work began, checking in frequently through the duration and upon completion, answering the many questions we had along the way. Anything unforseen was addressed promptly and thoroughly. We are very satisfied with the work and would recommend their services!"

"Justin, Lauren and crew were great to work with. We had just installed about 320 feet of fence and we were looking to install new beds that lined the perimeter of the entire backyard and front yard fence and fill them in with shrubs/perennials. We were also interested in introducing some hardscape in the form of a casual patio. Justin and Lauren produced a design document/art that showed the design proposal and listed the proposed shrubs and some beautiful irregular bluestone designs and a boulder feature, and that sold us on the project, so we went forward with it. For the entirety of the project Justin, Lauren and crew were all very approachable and forthright. Early on we identified some items that could cost extra, including some ledge. Justin was able to use his contacts with an excavation company to bring in a heavy duty drill and drill out a lot of ledge, giving us a much more level lawn. They were also able to improvise and use the boulders that got drilled out as a beautify boulder lined retaining wall. They are also now doing tree care service, and were able to prune the trees lining our backyard which was something that we've needed to do for a while and have been dragging out feet on. The crew worked long days and managed to get the project done in a little over 2 weeks, considering how many moving parts there were (irrigation fixes, heavy machinery, excavation, sod installation, shrub and perennial installation and boulder/patio installation), it was pretty awesome that they got done so quickly! I would definitely work with H & H again."

With the addition of the wall, it cost more than we had expected, but the slope of the yard made the wall necessary to have a level patio, so the additional cost was more than worth it. "Gardens by the Yard was great. First, they were super professional, responsive and had really great attention to detail. Leisha listened to what we want to accomplish, offered good suggestions, was open to midcourse corrections when what we had in mind needed to change; and it was all done in a professional positive manner. They helped us redo an aging brickway way and rebuild a stone wall. The final product look great, will prevent weeds from growing thru, and is pitched to prevent moisture issues. Their work digging out old bad fill and putting in new compost and soil was excellent, they took care not to damage existing trees and utility lines and to work with our other contractors to design and support the installation of a drip irrigation system. Their landscape design knowledge is wonderful, strong knowledge of what grows well, what is deer resistant, etc. The crews has good attention to detail, were polite and professional. I'd recommend them for sure."
