"When we were ready, a person came to my home and prepared a template of the countertops out of wood. Installation was smooth and professional. Every fit perfectly! The installers were so good! They cleaned up afterward, measured for the faucet to be an exact fit, and explained what cleaning products were best for the Corian. My kitchen looks beautiful!! This company is highly recommended. Do ask about the Corian sink verses the stainless steel. The the stainless steel sink ends up costing more because there is an additional charge for installing it. The Corian sink is so pretty, seamless and has a clean finished look to it.

"Overall, it went pretty well. I took a while to decide on which of the colours and edging I wanted; they did a good job of following up and reminding me. Since this work is for a house I'm renting, I wasn't always able to get measurements quickly. There were some quirks. The Big Deal price doesn't include removal and disposal of the old countertop; that was an additional $300. It also doesn't include the re-attachment of the sink as they don't do that work so I needed to get a plumber involved. To be fair, both of these were disclosed in the Big Deal and by them afterwards. Since this is template-based, I went out to the house and met an installer who created the template. He worked quickly but, unfortunately, his English was rather limited and several times during the entire project, he had to call their main office and hand me the phone so I could talk to someone there instead. This slowed down the process and made the interactions feel clumsy. On a positive note, they do care about the work; I had decided on 1/4" bevel edging and the main office called back and said that that edging has a higher risk of chipping and, since this is a rental, I should go with the 3/8" round instead, which I did. Since I was reusing my old sink, they brought the slab in and cut the hole for it on-site but used a vacuum and cleaned up the dust quite well. They also lowered the slide-in sink since the new countertop are thinner than the old one. This was after yet another back-and-forth conversation that resulted in a phone call to the main office so they could tell me they would do the work but wouldn't be liable for any resulting damage; there was none. The result looks good and once I get the sink re-attached, all will be well. There are still a couple of minor issues but it is a worthwhile upgrade."

"Company did a good job last summer with 3 bay windows, so I called them back when the rest of the windows in the house needed to be replaced. On the initial visit, I told the rep that I wanted the same windows as last year. He quickly found the job order and picked up the details of the window make/model/etc without any need for me to reinvent the order. The company had the opportunity to try to upsell me, as I asked them about replacement of the skylight in the bathroom. Refreshingly, they declined to do so and told me that it would be much better to wait until we needed to get the roof re-done, and to do the window at that time. As before, the first guy clearly explained the process: guy 1 to take the order and measure the windows, later follow-up visit from guy 2 to remeasure all the windows carefully before ordering their construction, and then a couple of months later, a follow-up call from their HQ to schedule the install. He gave me an approximate window for this scheduling call. It was a pretty broad time-frame because there had been an unusually large number of people needing custom windows. As before, everything went off exactly as the rep indicated. The install team showed up within a half-hour of the estimated time, and installed 11 windows without taking a break. They removed every scrap of rubbish, vacuumed thoroughly, and left the place as clean as it was when they arrived."

"

My need for a new countertop became apparent when I had a plumber remove my kitchen sink to replace it with a new one.  This happened in September 2014.  Since the countertop needed to be replaced, I decided the time had come to also address issues with the kitchen cabinets.  I got several quotes.  As far as price goes, Saltwater Woodworks was somewhere in the middle, but Matt Sullivan listened carefully, made good suggestions about how to accomplish my objectives, and was the only one who would commit to getting my kitchen back in working condition by Thanksgiving.  And he delivered on this promise.

I am very happy with the work.  There were some problems encountered.  The finish on the new cabinet doors did not match the finish on the refinished cabinet boxes as well as expected; three of the new drawer fronts were damaged during installation and had to be replaced; there was a problem with the hinges on one cabinet door.  All of these problems were corrected to my complete satisfaction and without any objection.

The entire project, with corrections, took longer than I anticipated.  But once the initial deadline of getting the kitchen up and running by Thanksgiving was met, I was willing to be patient about the corrections and did not press for speedier action.  Matt Sullivan was very good about communication, and I never worried that he would fail to follow through.

"We bought the house in April 2010. It had been used as a rental for many years, and maintenance had been neglected. Right from our first meeting Charlie took an interest in the house. Although it needed work both inside and out, he advised us to first protect our investment by securing the outside from the elements on Cape Cod. (The house is two minutes walk from the ocean.) We looked at various scenarios, but decided to re-shingle and re-roof both house and garage, and put in all new windows. We shared with Charlie our dream of adding a front porch down the road, and then it became apparent that to tie in the roof areas it would make sense to do the porch at the same time. Charlie gave us one estimate for the initial work, and a separate one for the porches. As we were living an hour and a half away from the home site, Charlie took care of everything that was needed as regards plans and permits, and met with us at our convenience to go over everything to make sure we understood what was going on. Work began with the replacement of the windows in the fall of 2010 and initially we hoped to be done with the renovation before the winter, but we hadn't bargained for the hassle of getting a permit for the porch addition. We eventually had to settle for a much narrower porch than we had envisaged because of lot coverage issues. Unfortunately, the delay in getting the permission needed meant that much of the job got backed up, and had to be put on hold until after the winter. Charlie made custom window frames for all the windows (25!) and managed to do the window work while keeping the interior lath/plaster walls in one piece - apart from the sunroom addition, where the walls fell apart and it had to be completely stripped back to the studs. Having fixed it up, it is now the coolest looking room in the house! The scope of the work also included new lighting and electrical outlets for the sunroom, installation of a whole house fan, joist repair in the attic, new gutters, construction of dry wells, loam and hydro-seed for the yard, new garage floor, construction of an outdoor shower with bench, extension and remake of the back deck and construction of the farmer's porch. The deck and porch were done in mahogany. The house was shingled with red cedar treated with bleaching oil, so it will weather to gray. All the neighbors stop to admire the work, and say how hard the crew worked when we were not around."
