"I was a little nervous about ordering windows on the internet using measurements I'd taken myself, but I loved the design on the website so, initially I only ordered 2 windows to check the quality, my ability to measure accurately and the company's ability to build to my measurements. Jeff, the salesman I dealt with was attentive without being overwhelming and the first order was delivered in about 4 weeks. The windows were exactly what I was looking for and fitting them was a breeze. I followed up with another order for the remaining 13 windows in my porch and again, they arrived quickly, were of great quality, exactly to size and easy to fit. Looking forward to see how they last their first winter."

"We hired Ed to build a 2-story addition (family room + office) to our 90 year old home. We had atleast 2 other estimates but the difference with Ed was he gave us a clear breakdown of all the components and what each stage of the work would cost. Whislt his estimate was not cheap, we liked the fact that the estimate had the details of the materials he said he would use. The project is now complete and we can gladly say that we have been happy chappies throughout. The best part through the process has been top notch communication. The best way to get int touch with Ed is via email and he responds very very promptly. All stages of the work have proceeded smoothly despite it being frigid cold....from excavation to framing to electrical to HVAC to all the carpentry. Ed's management of timeline is excellent and his crew have always stuck to that timeline. They arrive on time and get on the job right away. I especially want to say that Ed's carpentry crew is very accomplished. We would definitely recommend Ed to anyone who is thinking of a complex project like an addition <br />"

"The best thing about Lenny Santosuosso and Applewood is, they took what we said we wanted and made it much better than we ever imagined it.  We had a rough idea -- blow out a wall, build an addition, and get a new kitchen.  Lenny took that input and designed an amazing space that incorporated all the features we wanted, and many that we never considered.  He knew what to ask, he knew what was needed, and he knew how to explain it all to us.   <br /> Lenny also knew how and when to tell us that we probably wouldn't like some of the things we said we wanted, and he was right.  We asked for a lot of windows in the south-facing wall, and he designed a lot of windows, but less than I had imagined.  But when he layered in the cabinets, the skylights, and the sliding door, it came out perfectly.  More would have been overkill.  It's hard to imagine how a kitchen could have been built TOO brightly, but he kept us from doing that to ourselves. <br /> He also rolled with the changes.  Somewhere late in the process I wondered if we could put greenhouse windows in the basement.  He came up with a plan that was, once again, better than the idea I started with, and the result was simply great.   <br /> We're still astonished by the fact that everything went according to schedule.  I mean, to the day.  Lenny gave us a schedule in November that told us what day in March the job would be finished, as well as what date the old kitchen would come out, the new floors would go in, the cabinets would arrive, and the plumber would be done -- and every date was exactly accurate, despite storms and other incidentals.  The guy got everything done exactly as he said he would, when he said he would. <br /> And maybe most importantly, he took responsibility for his subcontractors.   If something wasn't perfect, he got the source to make it perfect.  Even three months after finishing the job, he took charge of getting an electrician to troubleshoot a late-emerging problem (which turned out to be totally unrelated from the work his people did).   And he keeps in touch, asking how things are going, does anything need attention, and are we still satisfied.  We are definitely still satisfied. <br /> I don't think we'll ever need to do another job on the scale of this one, but if we do, Lenny will be our first call, without question.  We approached this project with a fair amount of worry because of the scale and the amount of money we'd be spending, and because of all the horror stories everyone hears about lousy contractors.  Lenny made every single one of those fears go away.  Absolutely nothing bad happened, and the finished job is absolutely great -- it has literally changed our home and the way we use it.  We're totally delighted and have absolutely no beefs, knocks, or regrets.  How many builders get recommendations like that?  None other that I've ever used. <br />"

"After getting several estimates for vinyl siding I decided to go with Artistic Exteriors. They did a fantastic job installing the vinyl <br /> siding and repairing some structural damage caused by carpenter ants. Cliff was very fair in his pricing for the siding and the additional structure repair. I liked their work so much that I also had them replace my deck and then build a beautiful post and beam screen room. They made every effort to design a screen room that would look great and last forever. I would highly recommend Artistic Exteriors."

"The many jobs that Ray performed for us went flawlessly. He started with taking up a rug and laying down brazilian cherry flooring excellent work! He then remodeled my basement building me a complete gym area rug, mirrors, shelving and also building an additional bedroom with custom closets another perfect job! The next project was remodeling the master bath with a custom shower and building a custom closet in the master bedroom. His custom design was exquisite a true masterpiece!! He also remodeled a set of columns that were in the gameroom. The next project was a 2 floor pool cabana that he designed to look like a smaller version of the house with matching siding. It came out better than i could have imagined. Ray does very good work, is honest and very reasonable in his pricing. He has done every service his lists in his categories for us and has done every one of them to perfection! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!"

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in West-townshend, VT

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
