Contractor underestimated cost of plumbing and electric by thousands. ? Cabinetry, our onus, after contractor presented an incomplete drawing and measurements. Carpentry team was easy to work with and did a good job, however; we paid a premium of 20% for a contractor who we felt was unfocused and never took the job seriously in the provision of appropriate oversight in renovating ?our little wooden cabin?. Overpromise and underdeliver: I had to stay on top of every detail myself, doing the job the contractor was hired to manage. ? Unreliable: Never kept appointments or confirmed schedules. The only time they showed up on time was to collect payment. ? Unsafe practices: At one point, a subcontractor was cutting concrete inside the bathroom with a gas?powered tool, filling my entire home with smoke. I had to intervene to stop it and argue just to get basic protections like tarps in place. ? Poor management: Subcontractors openly complained about not being paid, and I even had to send one home myself because of unacceptable behavior. ?
