"Called to ask about getting someone to come check on our radon system, which had stop working several months earlier. The person I spoke with, was friendly and very helpful. She was able to answer a few questions over the phone. She was also able to schedule someone to come out within the week. I was impressed that I received both an e-mail and phone appointment confirmation, the day before the technician was suppose to arrive. The technician showed up right on time, was professional and was able to diagnose the problem quickly. We needed a new fan for the system. Less than 30 minutes later, he was done and everything looks great. He left a radon testing kit that we will use in a week to make sure everything is working. Great experience and would definitely use them again in the future if needed."

"As a Real Estate Agent, i have been a part of hundreds of Home Inspections and i was more than impressed with the knowledge, professionalism, and willingness to educate my Buyers about every aspect of the home. Not an over alarmist like Axium Inspections are, and more friendly than any other Inspection Company that I have worked with in the past. All Agents have their preferred Inspection Company but, I would hire RF before I worked with anybody else."

"We were amazed and absolutely thrilled with the work done by Ace Radon. After I called, they set up a time to come out and see what was involved. The estimate was emailed later that same day. When we approved, they scheduled a time to do the mitigation. Both times men were prompt, professional, knowledgeable, and neat. They explained what they were doing and answered all our questions. The before radon tested 7.6, and afterwards tested .7 Needless to say, we'd highly recommend them!"

"Mat was our inspector. He was great. We have purchased several homes through the years but, our old inspector retired. Since we have shopped/used some other inspectors. Mat is the first good one that we have had since our friend Willis retired. He took us through the inspection with him and explained what he was seeing and why it was a concern or why he was pleased with what he saw. He also performed a radon test and was able to give us the results on the spot. We will use him again. The cost included the radon test"

FAQs for radon gas testing projects in Westminster, CO

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. The gas seeps through cracks in foundations and collects in basements and other low areas. Once you breathe it in, radioactive particles lodge in lung tissue and do long-term damage. Because you can’t see or smell radon, the EPA recommends testing your home every two years—and after major renovations—to keep your family safe.

Yes—every home should be tested. The EPA advises doing it at least every two years and any time you remodel, buy, or sell. On average, one in 15 houses nationwide sits above the recommended limit, and the only way to know where yours stands is a formal test. The equipment simply measures gas levels and won’t change your indoor environment, so the process is completely harmless.

Certified radon professionals—often home inspectors or dedicated radon mitigation contractors—handle testing. These radon testing professionals follow EPA protocols and use calibrated instruments to check levels throughout your house. Hiring a certified radon specialist means results you can trust for real estate deals, insurance requirements, and, most importantly, your family’s health.

Inspectors specialize in measuring radon gas levels, while licensed mitigation contractors design and install the systems that remove it. If your test comes back high, your inspector can point you to a qualified mitigation pro who will size and install the right fan, piping, or other equipment to bring levels down.

No—standard home air purifiers don’t touch radon. They’re built to trap dust and pollen, not radioactive gas. If testing shows high levels, you’ll need a dedicated mitigation system that vents the gas from beneath your home to the outdoors. Relying on a room purifier alone won’t keep your indoor air safe.

Opening a few windows in your home might dilute radon for a short time, but the gas seeps back in as soon as they’re closed. For a lasting fix, you’ll need a professional mitigation system—often a sub-slab depressurization fan—that pulls radon from beneath the foundation and safely vents it outside.
