"MAB Woodworking responded to our online request for kitchen cabinet remodeling to accommodate a new current model refrigerator. Our 45 year old Amana refrigerator died suddenly & no modern refrigerator could fit into the existing built-in space. Ugh! Michael Butler, MAB founder, visited our home first to scope out a vision for moving the cabinets to allow room for a new KitcenAid 36” counter depth refrigerator. Michael sensed our urgency, immediately scheduled the repair, giving us a firm date for refrigerator install & appeared two days later completing the work on time & on budget. "I recently had my shingle roof replaced and I?m very happy with the results. The team was professional, punctual, and completed the job efficiently. The quality of the work is excellent, and the new roof looks great. They kept the work area clean and communicated well throughout the process. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing a roof replacement."

"Just do it! If you are reading the reviews, you must be exploring your options. Well, you have FOUND the right company! I know I did. My experience with Affordable Cabinet Refacing was beyond my expectations. From the first phone call to Debra, her thorough and clearly presented email outlining the process to Chuck's informative visit to present (exhuberantly, but not high pressure) my options, I felt very comfortable moving forward. When Shawn arrived to measure (a kitchen initially built over 150 years ago), I was beyond impressed with his meticulous measuring and attention to detail. When Guy and Mike arrived, they were the icing on the cake. Their professional manner, work ethic, and skill transformed the kitchen to the one I dreamt of. Read the other reviews and chuckle at mine, but rest assured, you have FOUND the right company, because the have the highest quality product with an incredible team behind it. In today's world, the right people make all the difference. Kudos to each of them!"

"I was very happy that I decided to hire Ideal Home Improvement for the cabinet refacing piece of my kitchen remodel. The experience was completely painless. Alex is honest, skilled, professional, punctual, tidy and pleasant. He refaced the cabinets, removed a valance and other useless cabinet toppers (I don't know what they're called), built and installed new cabinet doors and installed pull out drawers in the bottom cabinets. He arrived on time each day and cleaned up afterwards. He did a beautiful job. There was a small nick on one of the cabinet doors that I probably wouldn't have noticed, but he noticed and ordered a replacement. As soon as it arrived, he contacted me about replacing it. I've received so many compliments on the cabinets. I highly recommend Ideal Home Improvement."

"Palm Beach Kitchens & Interiors remodeled our mediocre 60’s era bathroom for us and brought it up to date visually and functionally. Their service was perfect from start to finish. Their project manager is a design expert who listened to our preferences, suggested improvements as needed, and got our approval with each step. A written contract was provided up front and a timeline established, which were adhered to accurately. The remodeling job was done perfectly with no re-work needed. The work crew was very courteous and friendly, and did a complete clean-up each day. The entire job was completed in a manner beyond our expectations – it was on time and picture perfect. The project manager’s recommendations yielded a better bathroom than we would have expected, and we were kept informed daily of schedule and next steps. This was a refreshing example of expert design, project management, construction, and fastidious attention to detail. We are extremely pleased with the entire process and the end result!"

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Westminster, MA

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
