"Very professional. Although bathroom was semi refinished, due to all the problems we had had with the company who had done the basement, we decided not to let the remodelers install the toilet and pedestal sink. Good call as it turned out to be more complex and I shudder to think what the original remodelers would have hacked in order to do it. The sink drain pipe had been torn off during demo and one of the two the two bolts on the floor for securing the toilet had also been sheared off. Paul told me that it would take more time then the big deal we purchased and also let me know about the extra charges for materials due to the situation. He was able to get the pedestal sink with faucet properly installed on the first visit. Then he called to let me know he had purchased the parts for the toilet install a few days later, came to our house at the appointed time and finished the toilet install. He invoiced me promptly via email and I was able to pay the extras via credit card. Both fixtures work well. Although it ended up costing about twice what we paid for the big deal, in the end we got a quality job from a very professional and knowledgeable plumber.

"I wanted a bathroom remodel that was simple, straightforward, and stress-free. Century City Baths made that happen. My new bathroom is exactly my style — minimalist, bright, and functional. Nothing over the top, just a clean and fresh space that feels way more put together than before. It’s one of those upgrades that makes daily life better without draining your wallet. "JK Complete Remodeling & Construction remodeled our basement for us, and added a full bathroom. Jack was great to work with from the very beginning. He was upfront about the scope of the project, and was very fair about both his initial pricing in the contract, as well as changes that we made along the way. His team was amazing -- not only were they extremely competent in their work, but they always found solutions for unforeseen problems along the way (our home was built in 1901, so any rehab project is going to uncover some problems). Those guys can do anything. Our basement went from being a cold, dated hole in the ground to a warm and inviting family room with a full bath. We have future home projects in mind, and will only want to work with Jack and his team again."

Customers say: True professional

"Simply put, I could not recommend them enough. They were flexible and made the process easy. As this was our first rehab, this one took 18+ months due to legal and zoning. Throughout the entire process, James Construction group was happy to wait and consult as needed. I feel many companies may have moved on during this lull in our project and left us out. Once we finally got all the right paper work, they moved very quickly to rehab our house. All the while, we lived in the basement. Every contractor that came through for them was very nice and kept things as clean as possible (construction is always going to be dusty to a degree). As for the finishing, they made that easy too by allowing us to pick the big design elements but handled most of the "small finishes" that go overlooked but are a massive headache for the home owner. For example, baseboard trim was something we weren't very passionate about and let the company match up to our style - it looked great! With any construction project, there's bound to be change orders. James Construction was always flexible, assisting in anyway they could. We had an extra last-minute bath remodel that they team executed flawlessly, even though many of the contractors that were needed for the project had already done their jobs on the bigger parts of the houses. With the finished product, we couldn't be happier. If you have a rehab or want to upgrade, this is the right company for you. They're budget friendly, too!"

"Our bathroom turned out beautiful.  Dave has wonderful ideas, and I would use him again if need be.  He and his crew were on time, and cleaned up construction materials at the end of every work day.  I would highly recommend Lupfer Builders  to anyone wanting to remodel.  Thanks You, Lisa"

"This was a great experience. They came out and took a look at the space and sat with us to figure out what we were wanting look wise. They were able to do the remodel in ONE day! We went from an eyesore bathtub/shower combo to a stunning shower. They had great communication and ensure complete satisfaction before they consider the project as complete. We canâ t wait to have them out to do our other bathroom."

FAQs for bathroom remodel projects in Wheeling, IL

You can buy a replacement vanity by selecting a pre-made unit with an integrated sink from a local home improvement supplier. Pre-made vanities are designed for easy installation and compatibility with your existing plumbing. If a ready-made option doesn't meet your needs, consider hiring a custom builder to create a vanity that fits your space and style.

You can purchase a bathroom vanity from major home improvement retailers like Home Depot and Lowe’s or online stores like Wayfair, which offer a variety of pre-made vanities. Visiting local showrooms and bathroom supply stores can also provide professional advice and help you choose the right vanity for your space.

Installing your bathroom vanity flush against the wall enhances stability and prevents shifting. This placement also eliminates hard-to-clean gaps and keeps your vanity securely in place. Building codes often require a minimum clearance of four inches from bathtubs and at least 21 inches of free space in front of the sink for accessibility and safety.

You can upgrade a single vanity to a double vanity by installing additional cabinets, a second sink, and matching fixtures. This process requires additional plumbing adjustments, countertop modifications, and careful alignment to ensure both sinks function correctly. Upgrading to a double vanity enhances bathroom functionality and offers more space, which is especially beneficial for shared bathrooms.

The best vanity top material depends on your budget, style preferences, and maintenance willingness. Materials like quartz or solid surfaces are excellent choices for durability and low maintenance. If you're on a tighter budget, laminate is affordable but less durable. Consider how much traffic your bathroom gets and choose a material that balances cost, appearance, and upkeep.

Installing a bathroom vanity takes between three and six hours. Simple installations may be completed in under three hours, while more complex projects requiring adjustments or plumbing modifications can take up to six hours or more. The installation process includes assembling cabinets, placing the countertop, installing the sink if necessary, and connecting plumbing.
