"Overall experience was positive. The diagnosis was good and only required a $15 part that was able to install myself. My frig is working great. While my total cost for the repair was $80 which included the $35 diagnostic fee, the lowest other price quote was over $400. I am very pleased with this new type of appliance repair. I will be recommending this my family and friends."

"I had a question about microwave repair. He answered all my questions and was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Unfortunately new parts are no longer available for model in question. He gave me part # if I wanted to call around for a used part somewhere. Got lots of good info."

"We have had two interactions with Ryan. Both went exactly as we hoped. He showed up on time, completed the non-draining repair, and charged what we thought was a very reasonable price. At a later date we needed a replacement latch for the same washer. We had it within about 48 hours from the time we called. That is excellent customer service provided by a young man who knows what he is doing. Thank you Ryan."

"I wish I had used these people earlier. I ordered a part for my dryer and was able through their instructional video to fix it myself. Let me tell you I am "mechanically challenged" in just about every way. LOL I may have cut myself through my own stupidity but I did it. it was easy and I did not have to pay a repair man for a simple fix. Thank you so much!"

"Great! The first shelf arrived looking as if a bicycle ran over it and the shelf was broken. I contacted Appliance Zone, they immediately replaced the shelf. The new shelf arrived quickly and I did not have to go through hoops to get it handled, it was wonderful. They even followed up to make sure it went well. Great customer service shows up best when things go wrong. They handled quickly and painlessly. THANKS!!!"

"I have a 1000 watt, Whirlpool over the stove microwave. When changing one of the lightbulbs that lights the stove (under the unit) the glass part of the bulb separated from the metal part and shorted out. I have done this numerous times over the years with no issue but this time the buld broke and by not unplugging the unit first, (lesson learned the hard way) the current surge of the short apparently blew a fuse. I tried to replace the fuse myself but was unable to locate the specific fuse needed, and I was also unsure whether or not I caused damage to the rest of the machine. I wanted a professional to look the machine over just in case. After looking on Angie's list, I decided on Rock County Appliance, and gave them a call. The rep who answered the phone was polite, responsive, and we had an appointment scheduled for the next day. The next day, Niles (the tech) arrived on time and promptly identified the issue was in fact just a blown fuse. The fuse had to be ordered and 2 days later I had a working microwave again. He checked the rest of the machine to verify it was not damaged by the power surge and even identified an area was missing a spot of paint that could arc and cause premature magnatron failure. I appreciated the expert knowledge and professional service. The normal charge for their service call was the same as their compeditors "discounted charge" and they took the labor cost out of that amount. In the end, I only paid for their trip charge and the cost of the parts, (2 fuses). I would definately recommend Niles and Rock County Appliance. They will be the first ones I call the next time I need any appliance service!! <br />"

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Whitewater, WI

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
