"Estimate was about 20% below final cost because bid based on cheapest materials possible. Job was estimate to take 3 weeks, but took over 6 weeks. Job also started over a month late. Palmer had trouble remembering details becausehe did not write things down and orders were delayed as a consequence. Had trouble communicating via any means other than telephone or direct interaction. Subcontractors did good work, but work done by Palmer himself was not always done well (e.g., sloppy dry walling, painting, cutting pipe holes in cabinets, measurements). Had to redo some drywall patches and painting because not sanded properly, inadequate paint coverage, and sloppy edging. Bill contained errors that would not have been caught had I not insisted on itemization, which is not his preferred billing."
