"I had a flood for the first time in the crawlspace and basement. I called Regional Foundation & Crawlspace Repair to come out. They wanted 27K for crawlspace encapsulation, that was too much and I could do most the work myself. I instead paid them $5,000.00 to bury a geodrain and install a triple safe sump pump system. This is the job they did, they installed the sump pumps at the 3rd to lowest point in the crawlspace and this geodrain goes back and forth from uphill to downhill. The lowest point still allows water to flood downstairs. They also cracked a chunk of my foundation at the point of sump pumps egress. Outside they just threw rocks on ground were the water comes out and can get back into the ground to reenter the crawlspace. They got 1 star because the people were nice, their job was not. Update as of 4/23/2024 they contacted me and said they wanted to make sure everything was good. A Girl and guy came out and noticed a couple things I didn't and said they would fix it that their company does not do work like that. They dug up all the previous geodrain and moved it to walls, tried to level out the drain and changed the location of the pumps and the drain outside. She had a really good work ethic and never took a break. The guy was on the other side of house and think he did good too. Everything they did looked professional and looks like they fixed everything. They had to come back today to finish the work today, but had three of them. It all looks good and they tested everything. They apologized about the old work and were not sure went wrong, but I don't have a negative view of the company now and am satisfied with the work they did. Just nocking one star for the under trained individuals that came the first time, the second crew was great!"

"They arrived at the appointed time, set up their rig promptly and drilled the well cleaning up the drillings neatly. They hand dug a small trench from the well to the side of my house where they installed the well pump in an altered plastic deck box...very neat. <br /> He primed the pump and then  tested the effluent for iron  (it was low...that's good). <br /> My only adverse comment is that the cost was seemingly high ($2500). But I will say, before the well was put in I was spending $600/year in city water to keep my newly laid sod alive.  With the well in I'm only paying for electricity to run the pump...$40/year ??? and I don't need to be sparing with my usage.....like I was using city water.. <br /> So, it pays for itself in 5 years... <br />"

"Environmental Testing & Research Laboratories, Inc. sent a package with 2 vials and instructions for collecting the samples.  I collected the samples as instructed, completed a questionnaire, and returned the sample vials as instructed.  A week or two later they sent the analysis.  Everything went as expected.  There were no problems. <br />"

"We pay a yearly contract fee. They come out twice a year for routine maintenance. If we run out of oil or if anything goes wrong we are at the top of the list for servicing. We had an issue with them once. They had a new person come out and put in the Freon. He accidentally put the plug in backwards. We woke up the next morning with no heat because the Freon had all leaked out. They came and corrected the issue but tried to charge us for the service. I refused to pay the bill since the error was their fault. They dropped the issue after some debate. They come when we call them. they do the work that they are told to do."

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Williamston, NC

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
